Excellent restaurant in the center of Florence, just steps from the San Lorenzo market. The kitchen offers an interesting menu with traditional and more unique dishes, all made with seasonal, top-quality ingredients. The chef's dishes are served with care and passion! All the dishes were delicious. Welcoming atmosphere, impeccable service, and a huge thank you to Dario and Chiara!

This place is hidden gem with various types of handcrafted breads (best grissini I ever have), well - balanced dishes and friendly personel (you can experience their lovely nature first hand). We would like to add some photos, but we were so charmed that we forgot to make them. Everything clean, waiting time short, great desserts. Recomended!

Amidst all the noise of the city, this was a very pleasant place to relax. The food was very good, the service was excellent, and everyone was very friendly. The prices were reasonable, and we really enjoyed our dinner today.

I spent four days in Florence and returned to this restaurant more than once. It can easily go unnoticed, but in my opinion, it's well worth it. Exceptional food quality and expertly prepared, excellent wines, and perfect service. I recommend the pappardelle with wild boar and their (divine) cheesecake. Ilaria

02/09/2025: Visited in March 2013 — Giovanni himself greeted me at the door and took my early booking with warmth. This is a family affair (his brother runs Il Latini around the corner, and their father’s portrait watches from the wall), with much of the produce coming from nearby farms. Antipasti were a highlight: varied prosciutti, finocchiona, and fresh ricotta (9.0–9.5/10). Crostini with liver patè and lardo captured Florence’s cucina povera at its best. Off-menu baccalà alla fiorentina with beans was hearty if slightly oversalted (8/10). Pear and pecorino tortelli were rich, lifted by leeks and almonds (8/10). Desserts like panna cotta with strawberries and cantuccini were competent closers. Service was attentive and genuinely hospitable throughout. Bookings are essential, and it’s clear why: this osteria balances tradition, quality, and welcome in equal measure.
