Ristorante Le Chat Noir "u jattu niuru" In Cefalù

Nice restaurant in the heart of the city, very good food, and friendly service. Reservations recommended. We'd love to go again!

We came here on the recommendation of Osteria d'Italia and had reserved a table. We were told that the restaurant has been run by the same family for over 20 years. We love and know Italian cuisine and were particularly looking forward to the Sicilian version. We ordered three starters, one of which was to share. Initially, however, we were only served two, and only after we asked for all three came – this time even more. The bruschetta to share was excellent, but the caponata was rather overcooked and bland, and the Parmigiano was okay. For our main course, we chose the fish of the day (sea bream with capers, tomatoes, fennel, and peppers). The portion was so small that we had to ask if it was really the main course. Unfortunately, it was – the fish was barely noticeable, as it was completely overpowered by the vegetable sauce. With a glass of white wine (€9), the bill came to €81. Overall, we were disappointed with both the quality and quantity of the fish and would not eat here again.

I was curious. Why are there two identical reviews from two different people? Well, maybe that person had trouble ordering their food, but I imagine the restaurant should take that into account to improve its quality and logistics. I know there's room for improvement...

An unforgettable experience at Chat Noir in Cefalù! Every time I return, it's a confirmation. The cuisine is simply sublime: the seafood dishes are incredibly fresh and expertly cooked, like the spaghetti allo scoglio I enjoyed today, rich in flavor and the aroma of the sea. All accompanied by a glass of excellent white wine, which made the lunch even more special. The bread served is fragrant and perfect to accompany the dishes. The atmosphere is welcoming, elegant, yet familiar, ideal for both a romantic dinner and an evening with friends. The service is impeccable: kindness, professionalism, and customer care truly make the difference.

This is a lovely restaurant tucked down one of the side streets on the old town of Cefalú. There is a fairly large indoor area and several tables on raised decking outside. The menu not only lists all the food available but details the origin and history of many foods such as Cassata Siciliana, Spaghetti, Cannoli, Pasta Alla Norma and many more. We visited here for lunch quite close to closing time so it was very quiet. Our choices of Chicken Breast in an Orange Sauce accompanied by Insalta d'Aranci (Spicy Orange Salad) and Spaghetti Trapanese were delicious. The apple juice was lovely despite its unusually dark green colour. Our visit was rounded off with Crema Agli Agrumi. Service was lovely and friendly. Recommended. Note: we had tried to get a table the previous evening but no tables were available so booking is recommended for dinner.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I have severe food allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, gluten, and stone fruit and they were accommodating for all of them! It was so good that we came back twice and I ordered another meal to take away for our travel day. My first sit down meal in several days!!!

Wonderful restaurant with delicious dishes. Excellent and very friendly service, and the atmosphere is just what you'd expect from a Sicilian restaurant. We spent a week in Cefalu and ate here every evening except for Wednesday (the restaurant was closed). 1000% recommended

Fuimos a 3 restaurantes brillantes en Cefalu. Esta fue probablemente mi comida favorita. El hotel (Kalura) nos lo recomendó. No nos decepcionaron. La terraza exterior está en un carril, así que pedimos moverse en el interior, que es mucho más elegante. Se sentía bastante rústico con paredes de piedra desnuda y cueva como con paredes / techos redondeados. Me encantó el aspecto y la sensación. La comida estaba deliciosa. Se sentía sin pretensiones y delicioso. Personal amable y un gran servicio. Es un restaurante de gestión familiar (nos encontramos con el chef papá y el hijo gerente). Aparentemente toda la familia está involucrada. Me encantó mi pasta de marisco y gambas segundo plato. La boca agua bien. Debería ser mucho más alto en el rating.

Lugar encantador, cocina creativa (las sardinas rellenas excepcional! ) , ambiente animado/cálido, excelente servicio.
