Handsome. Definitely worth a visit: from the Greek to the Arab-Norman era, ending in a rich art gallery between the 14th and 19th centuries

Paintings that are 500 years old are impressive. In November, there is little traffic and you can admire it in peace.

This little Palazzo is very beautiful, but I won’t hide the fact that I was a little bored there, dragged here by my contemporary art lover friend.
If like me, the works neither warm nor cold you, still enjoy the quality of the architectural restoration of the building, its shaded terrace adorned with very beautiful tiling and the view of Palermo at the top of the tower .
At worst, the toilets are clean.

A memorable experience of full immersion among works of extraordinary level that testify to the sedimentation of cultural legacies of the civilizations and dominations that have marked the history of the island of Sicily. The structure that houses the museum is perfectly accessible even for people with reduced mobility. The rooms are large and set up with the utmost care both in the arrangement of the works and in the scenographic setting. From this last aspect, applause must be given to the museum's management, an attentive and aware custodian of a traditional museographic culture, but not for this reason insensitive to the need for constructed temporary scenes and installations which denote sensitivity towards users more accustomed to exaltation of the artistic values of contemporaneity. Knowing how to combine decorations, scenographic finds, posters, props, photographic images from the staging of the works performed at the Greek theater of Syracuse and insert them into the heart of the museum's iconographic journey is not an iconoclastic and out-of-context, false and artificial suggestion, as an intransigent purist might prejudicely observe at a superficial glance. Once the first impact has passed, one can clearly perceive how the multicolored scenography creeps in, admirably integrating itself into the rooms where there are masterpieces of unsurpassed artistic level such as the Annunciation of the Virgin by Antonello da Messina (1409), or the Madonna del Cardillo by Domenico Gagini (1492), increases the suggestion that captures the visitor, enveloping him in an inebriating atmosphere and sublime experience of contemplation. Almost three hundred works of art are present in the structure, which integrates perfectly with the Orsi Archaeological Museum, which make Syracuse a pearl of rare richness of the Mediterranean and the entire planet.

Very interesting
This is a small museum that can be visited in less than two hours. Also €9 entry for an adult, it can seem quite expensive. That said, the collection, without being flamboyant, is very interesting. It gives a sample of Syracuse artistic life from the 6th to the 17th centuries. Some works, often anonymous, are exceptional.
