The restaurant is located right near the main square of Civita, a splendid Arbëreshë village in the province of Cosenza. After my experience I consider Kamastra a must-see if you want to discover and taste local cuisine in the name of tradition. To choose what to taste, ask the owner for advice, a cultured and absolutely helpful person who will take you on a journey of history and flavors that will amaze you. You will not be dissatisfied. I will definitely be back

Homely food, good I would say. Rustic atmosphere. Service could be improved. Slightly high portions.

In the center of Civita, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, the traditional flavors of Arberesh cuisine: simple but tasty appetizer of local cured meats and cheeses, vegetables in oil with a homely flavor. The specialty is kid, both pan-fried, very soft, and grilled, tasty and fragrant: absolutely worth trying. For my personal taste, the side vegetables are less tasty, while the sliced ​​potatoes are tasty. Welcoming and fast service, made of smiles and great professionalism. To try and buy, because they were the first to produce it, the perino liqueur, a sort of local lemon/bergamot, with a truly unique flavor: we also tried the amaro. An appetizer, two generous second courses, two side dishes, a beer and a amaro 66 euros: the bill is proportionate to the excellent quality. Another amaro and two coffees offered, a testimony to the welcome and attention to tourists that can be found in these places.

We spent an unforgettable evening at Ristorante Kamastra and experienced several culinary revelations. The mixed starter platter was already very good. The first courses were truly sensational: Cavetelli with a local herb and Filatelli con Nduja (a spicy spreadable sausage). The main course, Capretto/Kid (one grilled and one "al tegame"), was equally as good. This was accompanied by a delicious Calabrian red wine from the Gaglioppo grape variety. Add to that a typical dessert and a house amaro, and our happiness was complete.

A stunning local gem — the perfect place to enjoy delicious food and warm hospitality. The local wine was absolutely delightful, and the limoncello was the perfect way to finish off a wonderful meal. A heartfelt thank you to Roberta for making the experience so special!

Warm, Welcoming & Delicious We stopped by Kamastra Ristorante for lunch and were blown away by the hospitality. Roberta made us feel so welcome—it was like visiting family. The food was fresh and full of flavour—simple, honest, and absolutely delicious. Great wine, lovely service, and a cosy, local vibe that’s hard to find. A real gem we’ll definitely be coming back to.
