Today we took a walk in Marta, a beautiful town on Lake Garda. We had lunch at Il Pirata on Lake Bolsena. It's a beautiful location, with quick and friendly service. The house appetizer was delicious. However, we ordered two seafood first courses and one lake-based first course. Both had too much cream, basically a cream that lost the flavors. The desserts were good and the coffee was excellent. Prices were fair for the location.

We always return to Giulio and Ciurma with great pleasure.
It should be normal to be served well, quickly, and with tasty dishes in a packed restaurant on a holiday (as far as Il Pirata is concerned, it's always a holiday), and indeed, that's exactly how it is. I read reviews that say, "Oh, but it's Saturday, it's normal to wait," or "Yes, but it's a holiday, there were too many people."
Here, the story is different. We've been frequenting this place (yes, I feel like saying "place") for years and have never, ever, encountered any problems: the friendly staff, the tasty dishes, the punctual service, and, needless to say, the cleanliness.
The magical location certainly wins, but it's not a determining factor.
Come. Come. Come!

Wonderful location!
Welcoming and very knowledgeable staff.
Delicious, high-quality food!
I'd remove the pirate, which in my opinion has nothing to do with the place.
Other than that, I highly recommend it!
