The owners were very kind and helpful, helping us choose the wine. The snails were excellent.

Late dinner just before closing time at 10:30 PM, tagliata with mushrooms and truffles (the most expensive dish on the menu), side of grilled vegetables, etc. Dessert, coffee, wine by the glass, and draft beer. Everything was good but could be improved; the meat was tender and cooked just right, but it had several tendons that could have been easily removed before plating the tagliata. The porcini mushrooms were excellent, and the truffle was the one made with scorzone truffles they use here in Umbria, the worst part of the dish. The rest of the dish was average. Tables outside and inside, poor timing in the kitchen, the side dishes arrived long after the meat, and they missed a coffee. The staff was young and very friendly. The atmosphere was frequented by large groups, but at times a bit too noisy. The specialty was "snails," which I'll try at a future dinner.

Il Girasole è un ristorante in cui si respira un'atmosfera conviviale. Tappa divenuta fissa nei nostri soggiorni umbri. Piatti preparati con semplicità sfruttando al massimo la qualità delle materie prime. Ottima la pizza, ma eccellenti soprattutto salumi, formaggi e la carne alla brace. Servizio impeccabile. Bravi!
