We celebrated a friend's birthday. She was thrilled with the warm, retro-style atmosphere. The Lazio cuisine was made with quality products, crafted as only Romans know how. The Grecia, the cacio e pepe, the artichokes alla giudia and alla romana, and the abundant desserts made for a delightful lunch accompanied by excellent local wines. The service was quick and discreet, with appropriate menu suggestions. The owner, Elena, was attentive to every request. The final bill was more than fair. We will definitely be back.

-UPDATE- I'd like to clarify the response I received after my first review. I don't intend to discuss the comments about the fire or the quality of the food, as these are subjective aspects that our group didn't appreciate, and perhaps we just have strange tastes. However, I want to clarify that none of us ordered after the others in our group. We entered together and arrived in the same car. It's possible there was a mix-up with another table, but I want to reiterate that no one in our group placed their order late. The lady's "surprise" when we pointed out that a pasta dish was missing confirmed this. My only criticism is that responses should be based exclusively on the reviews and the information actually contained therein. Trying to remember customers sitting near the fire at an inaccurate time is not only very complex, but can easily lead to inaccuracies like this. -UPDATE- Unfortunately, the experience wasn't entirely positive. I tried calling the restaurant to make a reservation the day before during opening hours (both midday and evening), but received no response. Fortunately, the next day, after another unsuccessful call, I managed to book for the same evening. When we arrived, we were seated at a table near the fireplace, which, according to everyone at the table, was too hot. The staff didn't seem very professional or organized: we encountered very long wait times, three waiters for the same table, and a certain lack of attention, such as a lack of friendliness in conversation, the failure to serve the ladies first, and the numerous requests for additional dishes. After waiting about an hour for the first course, one member of our group didn't receive his pasta along with the others, forcing him to wait another quarter of an hour. The wait for the second course was also long, about another half hour, and despite these inconveniences, at checkout, we weren't offered anything, not even a liqueur or a cover charge. As for the food, while my amatriciana was good, the same couldn't be said for the carbonara, which was very heavy and overly dense. Nor for the main courses, which we found decidedly oily and, in my opinion, served lukewarm. But we're by no means experts on this matter, so we'll limit ourselves to offering our opinion. Perhaps it was just a series of accidental oversights that befell us, but overall we were disappointed.

It almost seems like a Roman trattoria... it's just a shame that on my evening there was karaoke and not a concert... the food was excellent.

It's always a pleasure to return to taste an excellent plate of gricia or cacio e pepe, these are just some of the excellent dishes, soon we will return to taste the artichokes alla giudia accompanied by a good glass we will toast with a nice cheers

Excellent Roman cuisine; the carbonara is the best in Udine. Generous portions and fair prices. Also great for an aperitif.

Very nice place, contrary to the reviews I read, the staff was courteous and helpful, the food really good, especially the coda alla vaccinata and I say this as a Roman, the price in line with the quality of the products definitely a positive experience, the waiting times are a bit long but that's due to the fact that they don't make pre-cooked pasta so the longer waiting times are absolutely justified.

I can only give it a top rating. The place is beautiful (especially the interior), and the atmosphere is welcoming. The food is good, and the portions are generous (unusual these days). I was very satisfied and will be back as soon as possible!
