Fantastic discovery to say the least! We were in the village for a short stay, fantastic welcome, everyone was super kind and friendly, food beyond expectations! Small tip, try all the starters, they are exceptional, the first course with crusco pepper is delicious. If we are passing through or in the surrounding area, Il Caminetto will be our fixed stop! Compliments

We were greeted with a kindness and attention that is now difficult to encounter. Exquisite dinner, fresh products as if we were eating at home😊 We will definitely be back!

We stayed in this place for a weekend, during a sporting event. Very kind staff, excellent local food, very good pizza. And then the appetizers... not to be missed.

Alla riscoperta dei luoghi interni della Basilicata ci siamo fermati per un “desco” domenicale in SanGiorgioLucano. Il paese è simile a tanti altri della Regione: poco affollamento, poco rumore…poco stress! Il Caminetto è in linea con l’amenita’ del posto: piacevole, rilassato, sereno. Il cibo è quello che ti aspetti: continuità, custodia e preservazione della tradizione culinaria lucana. L’empatia instauratasi con Giovanni, poi, è foriera di ripetizione dell’esperienza. L’auspicio è che si professionalizzi ulteriormente l’offerta enogastronomica in questa bella ed aspra Regione…

I went to this pizza restaurant with my family during a visit to San Giorgio Lucano. The location is welcoming, the staff friendly, the menu simple, the home cooking and the cuisine excellent. The value for money is also excellent. Highly recommended

02/09/2024: For those who want to enjoy good food and an amazing atmosphere overlooking the sea! It stands out for the quality of the fresh products, the hospitality and kindness of Alessandro, the owner, always attentive to the customer's needs and available for any request. We chose a seafood appetizer (with cold samples) and two first courses. The appetizer is rich in dishes: octopus (exquisite), mussels, swordfish, local pilchard and many other delicacies, all delicious, accompanied by a good white wine recommended by Alessandro. And then the first ones... One more enjoyable than the other! A classic seafood dish and cuttlefish ink with burrata and red prawn tartare... DIVINE!!! The prices are very honest. Definitely recommended place!

03/02/2025: Spartan, essential tavern, it seems to have gone back in time. It is located a few meters from the heart of the Sassi, near Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Typically and genuinely Matera menu, delicious bread balls, as are the first courses and the stew with potatoes, a good dessert of the day. Very kind staff. Excellent quality/price ratio. One of the surprises of our stay in the city. Compliments. Highly recommended
28/01/2025: We were welcomed and pampered by the owner and the staff... all accompanied by excellent live music!! I highly recommend it.
