Fantastic experience! We'll be back to try the traditional Japanese evening tasting menu. The food and drinks are top-quality. The cooking methods are complex and truly exquisite. The recipes and drinks are traditional and wonderful. The service is truly kind, helpful, friendly, and attentive. They're available and happy to provide in-depth explanations. We also had the opportunity to speak with the chef, and he was also truly kind. The atmosphere is quite elegant, and I really enjoyed it. Thank you so much.

We discovered the restaurant by chance on TV and, intrigued, we went to their website and decided to treat ourselves to this experience, and it was one of the best things we could have done.
We recommend it to anyone who wants to indulge in a "slow" lifestyle in this frenetic world, to anyone who loves the typical delicacy of Japanese dishes that seem designed, and to anyone who is simply curious to try a traditional Japanese dinner. But above all, we recommend it to anyone who wants a 360° experience filled with passion, aromas, colors, and professionalism.
We recommend the kaiseki experience, where you can savor seasonal dishes created using five traditional Japanese techniques.

A slice of Japan in Milan! The care and delicacy in every little detail of the dinner took me straight back to Japan. Every dish we tried was delicious. Chef Satoshi Hazama meticulously selects every ingredient and makes every dish from scratch, like the pumpkin and Piedmontese Fassona croquettes, breaded not in the classic panko, but in sourdough bread.
For unagi/una-ju lovers, here you'll find a delicate yet delicious version.
Dinner literally flew by to the sounds of Joe Hisashi, accompanied by impeccable and warm service.

Driven by the excellent reviews and out of curiosity, we decided to book to try the 7-course tasting menu (€130). Let's be clear: we're quite experienced with both Japanese cuisine and authentic restaurants, so our expectations were high.
Unfortunately, however, the experience didn't live up to expectations. For a dinner that aspires to be in the premium segment, I find it unacceptable to receive the first course after a full 43 minutes (it was 9:43 PM), especially considering there were only ten other couples in the room.
The food is well-prepared and of good quality, but nothing particularly original. The main issue, in our opinion, is the quality-price ratio: if the same menu cost €80, it would be perfectly adequate; at €130, however, it's significantly overpriced.
One plus: we received excellent recommendations on the sake, with two truly successful pairings.
Unfortunately, however, the icing on the cake was discovering, once we left after midnight, that we were completely smothered in the smell of fried food. For a place of this caliber, this is a detail that significantly affects the overall experience.
In short: good but not great. Good quality, service could be improved, prices excessive.

An authentic corner of Japan in Milan.
At Hazama you can breathe an atmosphere that truly reminds you of Japan: an environment cared for down to the smallest details, quiet and welcoming. The eel was the best I've ever eaten in Milan—soft, tasty, with super crispy skin. The soba handmade by the chef (a rarity) are a real surprise: perfect consistency, accompanied by a sauce that enhances them without covering them. Each dish is thought out and cared for to perfection. You can feel all the chef's passion in every detail. Milan needs more places like this.
