A top address in a prime location. We received friendly service, and the food and service were excellent.

I've had some very nice meals here in the past, but today's experience was rather disappointing. We seem to have made the mistake of choosing the menu. Each of the 3 courses was very small, about half the size of the same dishes when ordered a la carte. Also, the quality of some of the ingredients used left something to be desired. The cut of meat used for the tartar wasn't great, and the panna cotta was seemingly made with vanilla paste with vanillin flavouring instead of real vanilla. I think for the quite high prices one can expect better quality.
The service, sadly, wasn't up to scratch either. We had one set of cutlery for the 3 courses. After the starter my knife was covered in egg yolk from the tartar, so I left it on the plate, expecting it to be replaced. The waiter took it off the plate and placed it back on the table.
It remains to be said that the setting of the Grotto Sant'Anna is very nice indeed.

Very, very delicious food. Not your average meal. A special place, a fantastic setting, and beautiful nature. The restaurant is a bit more expensive, but perfectly fine. The service is friendly. Everything is highly recommended. This was our second visit. 2022 was already a great experience, and we'll be back this year.

A restaurant with excellent food, a perfect location, a lovely ambiance, and friendly service. It truly deserves 5 stars. We were there for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Recommendation: Reservation of a table.

Under the previous owner, dining at Grotto St. Anna was a highlight and an explosion of flavors. Unfortunately, we didn't feel that way last year, and today's visit confirmed our impression. The tartar was at best average in both taste and appearance. The potato gnocchi were only boosted by the Ossola speck. The veal liver with potato cream and Barolo vinegar was delicious. From the wine list, we chose the 2017 Brunello. For €50, the wine was a good choice.
But for us, St. Anna is no longer a top recommendation. Oh yes, the service has seen better days, too.

I returned after years, and it was just as good as I remembered. The truffle pasta was exquisite. The lamb was super tender, and the eggplant in soy sauce was fantastic. The whole thing was rounded off with a very good panna cotta.
The wine list is very extensive, with great wines in every price range. The service was very friendly and attentive.

A family-run inn run by Franco, an outstanding cook. We ate a wonderful polenta osi buco.
The location is typical, on the banks of the stream that supplies water to the entire village.
