We visited Grassilli after looking up reviews on service and food. Sadly, we were disappointed with both.
The service was OK but not warm and friendly and the food we had lacked flavour.
I requested some olive oil with my starter, and the staff said this was possible, but I'd have to pay €8 for a small bottle. We have never experienced this before and were a bit shocked.
The decor of the restaurant is lovely with lots of traditional black and white photos.
It was just a shame the food and service didn't match.

Sadly I can't say anything other than everything was OK. Service wasn't over friendly not memorable.
The food lacked flavour and needed seasoning. I asked for some olive oil and they said that would cost €8 euros for a small bottle. We felt really lucky when we were told we could take it home as if that would entice us to buy it. We have never been charged for oil before.
The decor was lovely lots of black and white photos on the wall.
It was a shame that the food and service didn't match the decor.

Me and my partner ate here for lunch, and had a lovely time - served by both the male and female waiters we felt both welcome and cared for. Overall a charming restaurant, serving delightful Bolognese classics with lovely wine choices.

Ristorante storico, rintanato in una piccola via del pieno centro di Bologna; di storia grondano anche le pareti e tutta l'atmosfera, raccolta (gli spazi non son grandi e conviene prenotare) e confortevole. Il menù si divide, anch'esso per tradizione, fra i classici bolognesi (su cui ci siamo concentrati in questa occasione) e innesti di cucina francese. All'antipasto di salumi emiliani misti e scaglie di parmigiano (molto buono, va detto) manca forse qualcosa (una salsina, un formaggio cremoso, un sottaceto...) che lo renda un po' meno asciutto, ma il difetto è veniale (così come la qualità diseguale del pane nel cestino). Si vola più alto, però, con primi (dai tortelloni alle tagliatelle) e secondi (cotoletta alla bolognese), tutti molto ben realizzati; le porzioni sono abbastanza contenute, il che consente di provare varie portate senza appesantirsi troppo. Come dolce ci concediamo il gelato alla crema con fonduta di lamponi: di nuovo, molto buono. La carta dei vini, anch'essa binazionale, è particolarmente ampia; anche le proposte al calice sono comunque interessanti. Pure il caffè non delude. Il servizio è impeccabile, i prezzi tengono giustamente conto dell'alta qualità media, della centralità, e della nomea del locale, che in ogni caso mostra di essere tutt'ora ampiamente meritata.

After receiving numerous recommendations, I finally managed to try Grassilli, with rather high expectations. The place is very small, so I highly recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends.
Among the dishes tasted, I particularly appreciated the tortellini and the Bolognese cutlet. The rest of the menu, however, seemed average to me.
Unfortunately, the service seemed unprofessional to me, which affected the overall experience.
All in all, it is a restaurant with some strong points, but in my opinion there are better options to eat in Bologna.

Such a gem. From the outside you can’t see much but from the inside it’s like a time capsule. The interior with all the wood and pictures as well as the lighting create a warm atmosphere. The music in the background is not too loud and fits to the place 100%. We had local cold cuts and parmigiano as antipasti and the Ragù. All the dishes including dessert were in point. The wines as well as recommendations were really good as well.
If you‘re looking for a more quiet and dim space, Grassilli is the place!

A tourist trap. I found the schnitzel very bland.
Grassilli es uno de esos lugares populares y pequeños en Bolonia. Es muy frecuentado, pero ponen un límite en su lista de invitados, así que asegúrese de llamar o parar para obtener una reserva. El interior no está lleno, sin embargo, agradable y espacioso con un personal relajado y reconfortante. El menú es bastante elegante pero de la mejor manera posible. Empezamos con un poco de vino de la casa y un plato de parm / mortadela. Una de las principales razones que visitamos fue por sus passatelli; estas gemas perfectas, almohadas, de limón y parmesano en caldo. No sé cómo los consiguieron tan ligeros. Nuestro otro secondi era un filete en salsa de chalota (vino tinto, base de carne de res y hierbas), que era rico y satisfactorio. Tienen algunas opciones de postres, pero a veces solo necesitas tomar un segundo y mirar alrededor de un restaurante. Vimos esta tarta de manzana - estilo postre en la pantalla del mostrador y pedimos inmediatamente. Fresco, crujiente y dulce; un final perfecto para el almuerzo boloñés. Este es uno de esos lugares donde sabes que va a ser genial, cada visita. Calificación: 5 / 5
