So... after a disproportioned amount of negative reviews, I wanted to check out what the fuss is. Honestly - I don't know? We did have to reserve. The staff was friendly, explained everything, suggested a wine and plat du jour. More on the french side, rather than pure Italian or Bolognese? A little bit of fusion with simple and clean dishes as the core of the menu with an extensive wine list. Overall a great experience. I can only guess that the 1 star reviews are from people outside Europe that are used to different style of service. For us it was just the right amount of friendliness, calm, but also leave us unbothered.

Good food, reasonably priced, only serves wine and water, no mixed drinks, would recommend making reservation as only 30 or so covers.

Absolutely loved the food and vibe here. The pasta special with pomodoro and buffala was the best pasta I ate in Italy and the vibe is just so cool. Would highly recommend!

My recent visit to Grassilli in Bologna was an absolute delight from start to finish! If you're looking for an authentic taste of Bolognese cuisine in a warm, welcoming setting, this is the place. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was simply perfect—a cozy, traditional, and bustling space with a lovely local charm. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home without being overbearing. Now, for the food! Every dish we tried was simply exquisite. The “tortelloni burro e salvia” was rich, perfectly balanced, and clearly made with love, just like nonna would make. We also tried their “caprese sbagliata”, which was delicate and comforting. And don't even get me started on the desserts – tiramisu is number one! Grassilli delivers on its promise of traditional Bolognese flavours. It's clear they use high-quality ingredients and have a real passion for what they do. Whether you're a local or visiting Bologna, I highly recommend making a reservation here (it gets fully booked very easily, so call them and don’t miss your chance!) You won't be disappointed! Can't wait to go back on my next trip to Bologna!

Delicious! We really enjoyed every dish! Located on a quiet little street, not a tourist-packed street, perfect for us. Nice decor, very friendly staff who speak a little French. A very, very nice place in Bologna.

Ristorante storico, rintanato in una piccola via del pieno centro di Bologna; di storia grondano anche le pareti e tutta l'atmosfera, raccolta (gli spazi non son grandi e conviene prenotare) e confortevole. Il menù si divide, anch'esso per tradizione, fra i classici bolognesi (su cui ci siamo concentrati in questa occasione) e innesti di cucina francese. All'antipasto di salumi emiliani misti e scaglie di parmigiano (molto buono, va detto) manca forse qualcosa (una salsina, un formaggio cremoso, un sottaceto...) che lo renda un po' meno asciutto, ma il difetto è veniale (così come la qualità diseguale del pane nel cestino). Si vola più alto, però, con primi (dai tortelloni alle tagliatelle) e secondi (cotoletta alla bolognese), tutti molto ben realizzati; le porzioni sono abbastanza contenute, il che consente di provare varie portate senza appesantirsi troppo. Come dolce ci concediamo il gelato alla crema con fonduta di lamponi: di nuovo, molto buono. La carta dei vini, anch'essa binazionale, è particolarmente ampia; anche le proposte al calice sono comunque interessanti. Pure il caffè non delude. Il servizio è impeccabile, i prezzi tengono giustamente conto dell'alta qualità media, della centralità, e della nomea del locale, che in ogni caso mostra di essere tutt'ora ampiamente meritata.

Locale che ti consente di fare un salto nel passato. Abbiamo preso piatti della tradizione, certamente l’abbondanza in è la caratteristica delle porzioni ma l’eccellente qualità Si. Abbiamo optato per antipasto, primo e dolce, un secondo ( non appartenente alla tradizione emiliana) Tutto davvero molto buono. Ottimo il sevizio. Ottimi i consigli sui vini. Vale la pena, ma occorre prenotare in anticipo.
