Friendly waiter, spoke English
Cave ambiance, music in the background jumped around from 70’s rock to 90’s grunge with a bit of soft jazz, 80’s pop, etc.
I had the tomato salad with local cheese, Wife had a mixed salad. She had Turbot cooked in a bag with fruits of the sea, I had Sea Bream with potato puree flavored with lime and saffron & a shrimp. Couldn’t taste the lime, otherwise all was ok. Had some local white wine, and a sherry like dessert wine; decent though not special.
Portions small – both secundi’s. Probably designed with antipasta & primi’s in mind. Almost all seafood!

We had dinner on October 2nd with another couple, frankly at the beginning we were hesitant, but we changed our minds during dinner, excellent food, sublime fish soup, equally baked sea bream, then the owner (Bruno) was courteous and knowledgeable , equally his son Francesco is very nice, we recommend him to everyone 👍

Francesco is an excellent host, the place is beautiful carved into the rock, the dishes are really excellent and the advice on wines is attentive and spot on.

Excellent restaurant carved into the rock.
The seafood pasta and wine were perfect.
We have already been here twice and have never been disappointed.
Little extra: the servers speak French and the menu is in French.

Very characteristic place literally carved into the rock. The menu includes traditional dishes revisited in a more modern way, aesthetically beautiful and with an exquisite flavour. Great selection of wines. The octopus appetizer is excellent. 😋
Unfortunately, being very small, you are a little crowded and you need to book without fail.

After a complicated arrival in Vieste, we stopped at this restaurant on the recommendation of Lonely Planet.
The restaurant is repeatedly recommended by several guides and we understand why. The dishes are fine and delicious, cooked with local, quality products.
Definitely worth trying if you are passing through this small town for the day.
Be careful, the prices are higher than other restaurants in the region (€50 per person for a lunch for 2)

A bijoux, an intimate room created inside a natural cave. Words like "typical" and "characteristic" in this case are even reductive, better to say particular and unique.
The owner is a true enthusiast both of his wines and of his cuisine and of the Gargano and you can very easily extract stories, suggestions and ideas both for pairing dishes and wines and for leading a holiday like true experts, avoiding the typical clichés of "herds " in the summer pasture.
The cuisine is one that leaves a lasting impression, the fish is not fresh: more... The raw dishes offered with the starters are a truly important sensory experience. Particularly worth mentioning is the tuna "cheesecake" which is made with tuna tartare, taralli, pistachios and burrata. Beautiful to look at, it really looks like a cheesecake, and fantastic to taste, it contains many typical flavors of this beautiful land.
We highly recommend it, a small pearl hidden among dozens of tourist offers that are better left to foreigners.
