Good morning. This year I returned to my favorite restaurant, Durnwald, which I've been going to since 2000, and it never disappoints. Everything was excellent, from the food to the kindness of Barbara and Sylvia Mayr. I repeat the compliments I already gave you in anticipation... and congratulations on the 2026 Michelin nomination. 👍💯😋♥️

Beautiful location and excellent selection of dishes. The welcome appetizer was lovely. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

We came by chance during the week without a reservation. We were immediately greeted by a very kind waitress. An excellent dinner featuring local products. The cured meats were truly excellent, as were the spinach dumplings stuffed with cheese. But the game tagliatelle were the best I've ever had. The apple fritters were delicious, soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The lemon and mint sorbet was a real treat. In short, if you're looking for a traditional Tyrolean dinner, definitely stop by Durnwald. The restaurant is also mentioned in the 2026 Michelin Guide.

My family and I came to this restaurant almost by chance, as it was close to the house where we were staying for a weekend. We were surprised to discover that it's listed in the 2026 Michelin Guide, so our expectations were very high... and after dinner, we can say they were far exceeded. You immediately sense that this is a family-run restaurant, where passion and care for their work are genuine. The cuisine manages to combine high-quality ingredients with the abundance and warmth typical of a traditional osteria. The service began with a small tasting on the house: veal with tuna sauce accompanied by a salad, truly rich in flavor. Next, we tried the venison goulash with polenta, red cabbage, and mushrooms: intense yet perfectly balanced flavors. The egg tagliatelle with venison and mushroom ragù was exceptional, with all the authentic flavor of the game and fresh, flavorful mushrooms, not at all watery. The spinach dumplings on a sheet of mountain cheese are also excellent, a dish that truly embodies the local tradition. To conclude, the apple fritters with vanilla ice cream: a true delight for the palate. The prices are absolutely fair and commensurate with the quality of the dishes and the experience. We highly recommend it: a true South Tyrolean gem.

Update 2026: Just look at the pictures! Reservations are mandatory on Valentine's Day: 2025 As we have for many years, we went to Durnwalder for Valentine's Day. They have a special menu for it. In short: Outstanding quality, outstanding taste, outstanding presentation, and a super fair price. Together with the wine pairing, it was another fantastic evening this year!
