Fantastic location, very welcoming owner and highly professional staff (Roby), unquestionably EXCELLENT food also considering that 80% of the products are made by them. Price up to expectations. 10+

The restaurant in the eponymous district of Pichl in the Gsieser Valley has a somewhat outdated appearance in one place or another. If you put that aside, you can expect a culinary journey at a high level at comparatively affordable prices! The greeting from the kitchen gave us an idea that an evening full of enjoyment awaited us. The following courses left no questions unanswered in terms of taste. The service fits the hearty South Tyrolean mentality. The only thing that should be given is some time to linger between the individual courses. We would love to come back and look forward to our next visit!

We came after a very bad meal at another restaurant. Desperate and without a reservation, we came to the Durnwald restaurant and actually just wanted a delicious dessert. We received an incredibly warm welcome from the host and were given two starters in addition to the homemade apple strudel! Our evening was saved! The ox carpaccio with herbs is an absolute dream!

Superlative restaurant. Zero km ingredients, excellent South Tyrolean dishes and original proposals, well-kept location, just outside the town, near the woods and next to the cross-country track. Excellent value for money, interesting wine list, exquisite owners, large and welcoming rooms. My cult favorites: venison carpaccio, potato soup, baked shank and sage&lemon sorbet. Anyone who comes to Val Casies and doesn't dine here at least once has missed out on something. For me, a cult restaurant. Thanks Barbara and Silvia!

Ich kam auf Empfehlung. Netter,kleiner Weiler. Gasthof außen ganz nüchtern und unscheinbar. Rechts nach dem Eingang typische Espresso-GlasWeißwein-Dorf-Bar. Dahinter der helle Speisesaal. Und hier fängt der Genuss an!!! Zwiebelrostbraten, Schweißnudeln mit Graukas, Schlutzer, Tirtln, Kalbskopf! Nicht umsonst vom Michelin empfohlen!!! Guter kompetenter Service von Chefin Barbara!!!!

Merita decisamente il viaggio. Specialita' tipiche preparate con materie prime di grandissima qualita' e tecnica sopraffina in un bell'ambiente, caldo ed accogliente. Servizio preciso e rapido. Prezzi corretti. Abbiamo assaggiato cervo con degli spaetzli e salsa di mirtillo rosso da dieci e lode, uno strudel fantastico con della panna straordinaria. Una menzione speciale per la birra ambrata alla spina davvero eccellente.
