Ristorante Dorandò In San gimignano

I've been coming to San Gimignano for years, and this was the best meal I've had here in a long time. The price was perfect for the quality. The preparation was fantastic, the taste unique—something you rarely find. Kudos to the kitchen! The service, with Aurelia and her colleague, was very attentive. The attention to detail was top-notch. You absolutely must try the desserts—simply delicious.

The welcome was quite good, but the pasta dishes didn't live up to expectations. Far too much garlic in one, and the other was a Bolognese that only tasted good at home…

Fantastic early dinner here. Great local wine (recommended by staff). Excellent pasta (stand out ricotta ravioli with pear sauce). Sat in the laneway outside, watching people go by. Slight breeze. Listening to music in next square. Gorgeous night.

I only realized how bad the reviews were after I sat down, but the two dishes I ordered—1. Smoked Duck Breast with Pesto (Ventaglio d'anatra affumicata e broccoli saltati con pesto alle mandorle) and 2. Handmade Spaghetti with Lamb Cheese (Tortelloni fatti a mano con pecorino erborinato su crema di pere)—were both delicious! The pesto had great layers of flavor, the spaghetti had a great texture, very chewy, and the lamb cheese flavor wasn't too overpowering; the meat sauce flavor wasn't too salty either—the taste was just right! After eating, I felt I had to give it five stars to redeem it!

Great Tuscan delights away from the crowds, tgis restaurant is also very close to the San Gimignano central plaza. We tried home made pasta dishes and excellent local wines. Aurelia, our host is a Sommelier and her excellent advice was outstanding. Prices were extremely reasonable for a Michelin reviewed.

The pasta dishes are decent. Between €13 and €16. But keep in mind that they charge €2.50 per person, €2 per cover charge, and €2 for a small plate of olive oil.

Excellent value for money compared to other restaurants in the area. The pasta with pecorino and pears is a must-try... the tagliatelle is classic but very good. A good white wine... The only downside was the Chianti... but I think it's just a wine I don't really like. So... a little bonus for the waitress... a smile and kindness! Thank you

We tried two types of pasta – pici and ravioli with cheese and pear, both of which were delicious. The service wasn't the fastest, but it was no slower than anywhere else in Tuscany. The waitress was very friendly and answered many of our questions.
