An extraordinary place, facing the highest famous peaks in Europe: the view is exceptional, it is a calm place filled with serenity.
The staff is just exceptional, especially Stéphanie at reception, Etoré at service and Iris for massages, but all the staff are available, attentive and very professional. Our stays are always short, in summer and winter, but each time it is a magnificent experience.

What a lovely holiday we had at the Hotellerie De Mascognaz. We were there or a January weekend with friends and had the most wonderful time in this snowy paradise.
Rooms: lovely rustic wood rooms with character and charm - each room was cozy and warm and had unique features - our room had a cushioned filled reading nook. Our friends room had stone stairs leading to a loft area. decorated tastefully with lots of textures and earthy colours - it was so inviting and comfortable. bathrooms were open for our room and tall hubby had a bit of a challenge in the shower under the roof slope hence baths were in order. bathroom had expected amenities (toothbrush, shower caps, bathrobes, slippers, etc).
Food: excellent food at the restaurant - we had some traditional pasta dishes and cheese dishes for lunches and enjoyed the richness and flavours. our dinner table was an old stone milling wheel! We sat on the winter balcony and enjoyed the views overlooking their little valley.
Service: pick up from the car park was via a snowcat, one for our luggage and one for 6x guests - 20 min ride up the mountain which was a fun experience, service was excellent from reception to checkout, nothing left wanting, lovely wait staff and bartenders, and lovely room staff helpful and brought you extra towels or anything else you needed.
Spa is nicely done with a warm pool and jacuzzi and a sauna room. Not huge but more than sufficient for the hotel size. They also have robes and slippers there too so no need to lug from your room.
Hard to believe its classified as 4* as this was a really lovely hotel and staff. The rooms are in different buildings hence you have to walk outside to get to the spa or dinner - bring grippy boots. Once you get your head around that, its really a good experience too see the area. on a beautiful day, you will also hikers and their dogs also walk through the hotel ‘village’ too.

A magical and unique experience - the Hotellerie has restored and inhabited this old Walser village with respect and charm to retain its authenticity and offer you all the comfort you need without excessive in-your-face luxury. It felt truly a privilege to stay up there away from it all in such beautiful natural surroundings and at the same time we were made to feel really at home by the friendly and attentive staff. The food was excellent, including the vegan options they made an effort to cater for, and the wine list had some lovely local wines to try.
The one day we went skiing, it took just 20 minutes from the moment we hopped on the skidoo to being dropped at the Champoluc lift station. Another day we went snowshoeing through the forest, across pristine snowfields and along the stream running through the Mascognaz valley, while snow softly fell. Every day ended with relaxing in the spa followed by an aperitif by the fire in the cosy bar and reception before dinner.
I'm recommending this place to friends and family and looking forward to coming back, perhaps in summer this time.
The one thing I would like to see more attention to is environmental policy and awareness - it would be great to know more about how the hotel is working to reduce its impact on - and give back to - the beautiful nature all around it, and how guests can contribute. Do they use renewable energy for the heating and spa or can they? Do they have their own vegetable and herb garden in the summer? Could the skidoos be electric? This would be appreciated.

Perfect place to disconnect in a village that seems straight out of a story.

An evening meal for 8 people. Transported by ski-doo up the mountain from Champoluc to the hotel (& return). Beautiful place, great atmosphere! Good food from a standard ski restaurant type menu. Great experience.

we had lunch at the restaurant and had a great time, as well as eating very well and with a fair value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the restaurant was very well looked after and the cuisine and wine selection were excellent.
to return as soon as possible

Marvelous. Magical atmosphere. For those seeking isolation and tranquility it is the best. Excellent restaurant, with a very good wine offering. Small but complete spa. Very helpful and kind staff. Absolutely recommended experience.
