I fully confirm the positive reviews read before choosing this restaurant in Sotto il Monte. We were a group of 10 people who came to visit the town of Papa Giovanni. Excellent lunch, attentive and kind service and very honest price.

Visiting the Birthplace of Pope John XXIII, as usual we decide to have lunch in this restaurant that is nearby. It offers home cooking typical of the area, well-prepared and abundant. Fresh ingredients for good quality dishes. The complete menu includes first course, second course with side dish and drinks. Excellent price, 20 euros per person. Simple, clean and friendly environment. Kind, punctual and attentive service to requests. Suitable for everyone, even the little ones. I recommend this place for a totally relaxing meal!

We returned to visit the birthplace of father John XXIII. We couldn't not go and eat in the Pio restaurant. Excellent service. Excellent quality for money. Kindness and availability, in particular the friendliness and professionalism of the waitress Giusy. I will definitely return. I recommend.

We returned to visit the birthplace of Pope John XX111, with my sister and brother-in-law, too bad the day was rainy, but it is always a joy to revisit that environment of a peasant era where Pope Roncalli was born and lived. We walk through the center below the mountain, we enter the PIO restaurant-bar, to drink a coffee, and we notice a well-kept environment, from the kitchen a scent of good home-made flavors came out, in fact shortly thereafter I saw a beautiful lady of advanced age where it was clear that she was born in the kitchen and grew up all her life. I ask for the menu card, abundant first courses, ditto for the second courses, a complete lunch with drinks for 20 euros. We already had a reservation we would not fail to eat on our next visit.

Siamo tornati a far visita alla casa Natale del Papa Giovanni XX111, con mia sorella e cognato, peccato che la giornata era piovosa, ma resta sempre una gioia rivisitare quell’ambiente di una epoca contadina dove è nato e vissuto Papa Roncalli. Percorriamo il centro di sotto il monte, entriamo al risto-bar PIO, per bere un caffè, e notiamo un ambiente ben curato, dalla cucina usciva un profumo di buoni sapori casalinghi infatti da li a poco ho visto una bella signora di età avanzata dove lo si leggeva che è nata in cucina e cresciuta tutta la vita. Chiedo la carta menù, abbondanti primi, idem per i secondi, il pranzo completo con il bere 20 euro. Avevamo già una prenotazione non mancheremmo di mangiare alla prossima visita.
