As reported on its website, it stands out for its offering of typical local dishes, prepared with attention to the selection of raw materials according to the "from land to table" principle. Added to this is the pride of thirty years of experience in the sector.
The structure
The farmhouse develops around a central body with some outbuildings, whose internal courtyard, although suggestive, is rather narrow and difficult for parking. Inside, the layout of the spaces reflects this characteristic: small-to-medium sized rooms, connected by narrow and steep stairs, offer an intimate atmosphere but may not be very functional, especially at times of greatest attendance. According to the structure, the farmhouse is able to serve up to 80 seats, distributed among the various rooms.
The menu
Moving on to the cuisine, the menu reflects a genuine attention to the quality of the raw materials, which is undoubtedly the strong point of the culinary offering. However, the overall experience suffers from some details not fully taken care of.
Starters: The most interesting part of the menu. Here we notice some flashes of creativity, even without reaching memorable heights.
First courses: Well executed, but without surprises. The quality is in line with the home-made tradition typical of farmhouses, a trait that will please those looking for simplicity, but which will not surprise those looking for greater innovation.
Second courses: The main dish, porchetta, is undoubtedly tasty and tender. However, the polenta, served on trays together with the porchetta, fails to fully enhance the main dish, lacking a more refined presentation or side dishes that enhance its flavours.
Desserts: Presented in small tastings to share, the desserts stand out for a mint dessert, fresh and well executed, but the rest remains average.
The plating, in general, is poorly looked after, especially for second courses and desserts, penalizing the overall visual and sensorial experience.
Service
The service, although friendly, requires greater attention to guarantee an experience consistent with the expectations of a cuisine that aims to enhance local tradition.
Conclusions
The “Dai Colombari” farmhouse offers a culinary proposal that remains consistent with the declared philosophy, but fails to stand out in the panorama of similar structures. The quality of the dishes is good, but suffers from a lack of attention to detail in presentation and service. Ideal for those looking for a simple and genuine, but not unforgettable, meal.
