I have read several so-so reviews and personally I can't explain those who didn't appreciate the Florentine steak at this restaurant. Discovered several years ago on a business trip, I have returned several times even when I was on vacation with my family and had or "created" the opportunity to stop. So yesterday too. Disappointed? Absolutely not, for me it remains the best Florentine steak I have ever eaten, very tender and with a flavor that is just to be tried. Never once have I had to change my mind. Of course the restaurant is not one of those "posh" trendy or gourmet ones, but for those who pay attention to substance and not appearance, it is certainly characteristic and welcoming. Obviously it is always crowded, also considering its location a few steps from the Barberino del Mugello highway exit. Too bad for my wife who due to problems had to settle, so to speak, for a plate of exquisite rigatoni alla Cosimo. When I can I will try to go back to see if they will be able to disappoint us, but I have serious doubts!!!

The place is quite old but it's ok!
Excellent desserts! Florentine price 60 euros per kg good with potatoes but divisible.

Ristorante rimasto ancorato alle tradizioni (anche come ambiente) e al cibo di una volta, con una qualità notevole. E per questo da sempre molto frequentato. Noi abbiamo preso dei classici antipasti misti (crostini di vario tipo: ai fegatini, al lardo e fagioli, ai pomodorini; salumi: prosciutto, finocchiona; ecc) buoni. Ma il meglio è arrivato dopo: tortelli al ragù secondo me eccezionali, sicuramente tra i migliori mai assaggiati. Poi un controfiletto al pepe verde davvero notevole. Insomma, Cosimo rimane un classico mugellano, da provare se si è in zona.

Restaurant that has remained anchored to traditions (also in terms of environment) and to the food of the past, with remarkable quality. And for this reason it has always been very popular. We had some classic mixed appetizers (crostini of various types: with livers, with lard and beans, with cherry tomatoes; cured meats: ham, finocchiona, etc.) which were good. But the best came later: tortelli with meat sauce, in my opinion, exceptional, certainly among the best I've ever tasted. Then a truly remarkable sirloin with green pepper. In short, Cosimo remains a Mugello classic, worth trying if you are in the area.

Eravamo ospiti nell’albergo vicino e abbiamo deciso di cenare in questo locale. Gli interni sono old style, ma il personale è accogliente e cortese. Non abbiamo assaggiato i primi, ma gli antipasti e i secondi, oltre alle zuppe. I sapori rispecchiano quelli tradizionali di questi luoghi, i prodotti freschi e buoni. Il prezzo giusto per quello che abbiamo preso. Lo consiglio per chi, come noi, necessita di una tappa comoda durante il viaggio (la sua vicinanza all’uscita della tangenziale è veramente strategica)
