Let’s say it, the main attraction is the waterfall located just outside the restaurant. It was Sunday, advisable to call and reserve beforehand specially in summer season when there are lots of daytrippers, cyclers and bikers.
We have been many times throughout the years, still keeps the fascination of the old times; built in the 1860’s but redesigned and enlarged during the roaring twenties by a Milan architect (who at the same time designed the hydroelectric power stations of the valley) offers mostly Alpine dishes like cornmeal, rye, cheesy dishes.
We had some appetizers (meat and cheese cuts), main dishes like genzianelle (rye dumplings), pizzocheri, deer sauce ribbon pasta, walser soup (rye bread soup with onions) were good tasty; most of the dishes at 11,00. Their homemade desserts (5,00) were really good, we particularly liked their apple/walnut cake. Service charge at 1,50, prices average like everyone.
There is a small church (really small) from the XVII century, a souvenir shop and a walkway balcony to look the falls from the top. It was a nice way to spend a sunny warm summer Sunday.
P.S. the falls are man-controlled so they can be admired only on summer season.
