What a wonderful surprise. When you're visiting Rome, you usually expect a tourist restaurant. But no. Right next to the Basilica of San Giovanni, there's this osteria. The place isn't huge but it's well-designed, and the dishes are exceptional. Home-style cooking, tasty and plentiful. The service is friendly and welcoming. The prices are excellent. A truly wonderful place to eat well in the center of Rome.

My experience was nostalgic.....I felt like I was at my grandmother's house....A restaurant with a lot of history and homemade food in the purest Italian style.....It is a family restaurant...we tried Nona's (grandmother's) ragu cannelloni...seafood cannelloni, shrimp with bechamel and fresh pasta....and 2 other pasta dishes that I missed, also fresh...prosciuto and a cheese board.....Everything was magnificent....Thank you Family!!!.....Keep it up....I recommend this restaurant with all my heart because there are very few of this style left.....I mention that I am a cook and I know what I am talking about.....

Sono capitata in questo Ristorante per caso e, da quel momento, per tutti i pranzi, durante il mio soggiorno a Roma, sono andata qui. È il locale dove si respira la storia e la tradizione. È un ristorante a conduzione familiare e tutto viene fatto con passione. Nonostante sia frequentato da tanti turisti, non è un ristorante turistico! Ogni piatto rispecchia la tradizione romana, senza l aggiunta di sapori " nuovi " o contaminazioni. Porzioni abbondanti. Prezzo più che giusto Consigliatissimo.

Restaurant where the Roman culinary tradition is still intact. Without contamination. Family run place, the owners are really nice and helpful. Despite being in a tourist area (San Giovanni in Laterano) it is not the usual "tourist restaurant". The portions are generous. I highly recommend it.

Arrivato qui per casa da solo. Al lato della basilica di San Giovanni laterano. Un locale dove si respira aria di altri tempi, arredo classico di un tempo e molteplici fotografie dei proprietari con artisti del mondo dello spettacolo. Disponibilità e cortesia di chi mi ha servito. Il primo ed il secondo erano buoni. Prezzo nella norma. Se passate da san Giovanni, Ve lo consiglio. A presto

27/08/2025: Wonderful boiled meatballs and giant homemade ice cream ravioli with a unique flavor! I only took photos of the desserts because the main courses were on the table for no more than 5 minutes.
21/08/2025: Everything was impeccable. I was the only table that wasn’t Italian that evening. You can taste the authenticity in the food and wine. The owners don’t even speak English though (for better and worse), so it’s hard to reserve a table and communicate with them, but damn, the food was good. The waiters were great. They don’t take notes and forgot half my order, but they were charming, and the wait wasn’t long. Thoughts on low reviews: I also didn’t make a reservation, but I showed up just as they opened, and they allowed me to stay. Within an hour, the whole place was packed and people were lining up. So please ignore all the low reviews that are upset about not getting a table. The staff know exactly what’s going on.

10/08/2025: Even though it was the last day of opening before the summer holidays, which limited the options, we were served excellent food with friendly and punctual service. Highly recommended.
07/08/2025: We stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant by chance and are so glad we did! The food was absolutely outstanding, a true taste of authentic Italian cuisine! We were especially impressed by how welcome they made us all feel, despite our limited Italian. A special shoutout to the incredible pasta dishes and their tiramisu - they were the highlights of our family meal! We will certainly be coming back!
