The waiter's service was excellent, and the food was delicious. A few downsides: they brought us a poorly washed glass. Also, keep in mind that a mandatory 16% tip is added to the final bill and subtracts €4 per person for the live music. The prices are high, but if you're willing to pay for the location, view, and atmosphere, I recommend it. However, if you want good service and food at a reasonable average price, look elsewhere.

We had lunch at the Ristorante Canal Grande, and the location is simply unbeatable, with a wonderful view of the Rialto Bridge. The food was excellent, with well-prepared and flavorful fresh seafood dishes. The beautiful setting makes it an experience worthwhile, even if the prices are decidedly high, comparable to Venice's more central restaurants. The service is courteous, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. A recommended spot for a special occasion if you're looking for a break with a breathtaking view!

Drawn in by the inviting exterior, we sat down… too quickly.
The bill was exorbitant for the meal: service charges and music fees were automatically added: €118 for two people for pasta and fried food, a bottle of water, and two glasses of wine as an aperitif. We had dessert elsewhere! The food itself was good and the waiter was friendly, but at that price, it's practically highway robbery…

We dined under the outdoor patio heaters, hence the red photos 😉.
The waiter was very good, friendly, and professional.
The meal went well and the food was delicious.
However, the spaghetti alla vongole had more shells than clams.
The surprise was the bill.
This is the first restaurant in Venice where we were charged 16% for service! And, like in the US, a 20% tip! It seemed mandatory on the receipt! The prices were circled, and it came to over €140 for two people. That was for one main course per person, a beer, a glass of wine, 50cl of water, and a flambéed crêpe to share.
Ouch! While talking to the waiter, he told us that tipping was optional. He certainly deserved a tip because the service was good and his crepe presentation was very entertaining, but I prefer to give cash rather than have my credit card charged. The bill goes to the waiter, but what about the other?

Not a bad restaurant, but it’s touristy and I don’t recommend it if you want something local and authentic. The staff is friendly. I feel it is overpriced though. I recommend walking deeper into the heart of Venice and eating at a local restaurant.
