We stumbled upon it by chance and were truly fortunate to find room for six. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The view was spectacular, with outdoor seating around their beautiful garden. The menu was very interesting. All dishes were presented in original, tasty dishes. The quality/price ratio was good. The attention to detail during checkout was truly appreciated (they reversed an overpayment I hadn't noticed; well done!).

This place is amazing. Really beautiful location on the mountain side over looking the lake. Gorgeous views and a lovely classy restaurant. The service was second to none with our waiter, Mattia, seeming like he was psychic. He answered all of our questions about the local area just as we were thinking them without being asked. The food is just amazing as well. We had a primi and a secondi each and were very happily full. The monkfish was the highlight for us. Amazing wine selection and very knowledgeable waiters. I would highly recommend going to eat here. The cost to quality was very good.

We are very lucky to have such a restaurant in Marone. The price to value ratio is really good and the restaurant is a special experience. More people should know about it, but just as many as that it doesn’t get too crowded or exclusive 😇🙏

Ristorante del Rifugio al Lago del Mortirolo

24/01/2026: To admire the lake, head to the pass. The starting point is the village of Monno, following the road signs. The trek begins by following the unpaved road, continuing along the trail, crossing the Roman bridge (also called Charlemagne's bridge, according to legend, because he built it), and entering the forest to reach the lake and the refuge of the same name. Upon arriving, you'll find Cima Varadega and Monte Pagano. The route is also suitable in winter (snowshoes) and for families. At the refuge, you can enjoy excellent traditional cuisine and relax in the hammocks. Travel time: approximately 2 hours Difficulty: E D+635m Alternatively, you can drive over the Mortirolo Pass, but you'll need to ask for a parking permit.
19/10/2025: My heart's refuge. Beautifully managed restaurant, food that's excellent is an understatement. A gem overlooking Lake Mortirolo. A spectacular experience in every way. Highly recommended.
