The restaurant is close to the train station, and even though it was the Christmas season, there were hardly any decorations like other restaurants. Instead, the door was covered with all kinds of rating stickers. 🤣I couldn’t quite tell whether the place was meant to be a French‑Italian fusion, but the menu was definitely extensive.
They served champagne and a carrot soup as a small starter. We ordered several dishes, but I only ended up tasting a few of them myself, so I can’t fully judge everything — though the steak was genuinely good. Overall, every dish gave the impression of being prepared with care.
Since they also offer set courses, it might be a good idea to try one of those if you’re not sure what to order.

I had dinner here on December 31st, 2025. It was absolutely delicious. They had a special course of fish and steak, so I ordered one each. Four complimentary glasses of wine were included, and the fish was 70 euros, and the steak was also 70 euros. Best of all, the male manager was incredibly friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Florence. Having only had T-bone steak, pasta, and pizza in Florence, this was a whole new experience. It made my last day feel special, and I was so happy.

Ristorante Belcore, a long-established Italian restaurant near Florence train station, has received numerous Michelin Plate recommendations and Italian red shrimp reviews. Japanese owner Ryoko Nakamura infuses the delicacy of Japanese cuisine into Italian dishes, resulting in exquisitely prepared and delicious meals at affordable prices.
For appetizers, we chose pan-fried fresh foie gras, stewed octopus, Japanese tempura fried shrimp, steamed eggplant, and celery soup. Our first course was seafood pasta; the freshly made noodles soaked up the seafood broth, and the seafood was incredibly fresh. I wished I could have another plate! For our main courses, we ordered Florence's signature T-bone steak, beef tenderloin, and seafood soup. We also ordered two glasses of Tuscan Black Rooster DOCG wine. This meal was incredibly lavish.

Exceptional dinner, excellent food, always served with a big smile... a rare kindness! Quiet place, slightly out of the way, already marked for when we pass through that area again.

If you're looking for a proper dinner in Florence, I highly recommend Ristorante Belcore. I visited while looking for a restaurant near my hotel, and I was completely satisfied with the overall ambiance, service, and quality of the food.
Upon opening the door, the first thing I noticed was the soft lighting, classical music, and artwork on the walls. Since reservations are the norm, the dining room is quiet and relaxed, and the staff are friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. It's formal yet comfortable, perfectly embodying the feeling of a "proper dinner in Florence."
We started our meal with the Caprese. Fresh mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and basil, lightly drizzled with olive oil, it was a classic dish that brought out the full flavors of the ingredients. The tomato and basil pasta (Pasta al Pomodoro e Basilico) followed, combining al dente noodles with a fresh tomato sauce for a refreshing, yet not overpowering, flavor.
The main course, Risotto ai Gamberi, was a creamy blend of buttery smoothness and shrimp flavor. With every bite, the rich, seafood aromas wafted through, perfectly complementing the Florentine evening atmosphere.
The highlight of this restaurant is undoubtedly the T-bone steak, the Bistecca alla Fiorentina. A thick, 2kg steak sizzles on a griddle, and the waiter slices it for you, explaining, "This is Florentine style." The outside is crispy, the inside is medium-rare, and the meat is seasoned with just salt and olive oil, preserving its natural flavor. It's the perfect portion for sharing.
We paired it with a bottle of Tuscan red wine. The full-bodied texture and moderate tannins complemented the steak perfectly, allowing us to naturally slow down and unwind from the day's exertion.
After dinner, the Florentine night had fully descended, and the Duomo dome loomed faintly through the quiet alleyways. Dinner at Ristorante Belcore wasn't just a simple meal; it was a refined ending to a day in Florence. If you're looking for a cozy dinner in Florence, especially a truly authentic Bistecca alla Fiorentina, this is a place worth visiting.

The atmosphere was great, and the food from the Light Menu was delicious. The waiter was especially friendly, and they provided complimentary pre-dinner wine and Fresecco, which was a nice touch.
