The dishes were too generous. It's a good restaurant, but nothing exceptional. Since everything is relative, eating poorly in a terrible hotel, the Crocus restaurant seemed like heaven to us.
A little fussy about the number of roasts, but they were really good.
I recommend it.

Simplicity at last
Finally, a casual place... exactly what you'd expect when driving along Highway 17 in the province of L'Aquila
Among dozens of anonymous places that seem to no longer know how to fill plates but instead focus only on crafting complicated and artistic dishes, losing sight of the final substance, this restaurant stands out.
I'm just talking about the potatoes... real, not frozen.
The homemade giardiniera...
But the pizza is thin... if you like it that way, it's perfect.
Very fair prices...

On our way back from a visit to L'Aquila, we passed Crocus. It's a typical truck stop, located in a service area, but it's sure to surprise you. Low prices, the option to choose a table without the usual "have you booked?" question, excellent food quality, friendly staff, and very short wait times. A small detail: with the coffee I had at the end of the meal, they brought me two packets of sugar, one regular and one cane sugar. Not everyone shows such thoughtfulness towards their customers.
