I stopped for lunch in a context that is not "tourist". Excellent impression from all points of view. It is certain that when I return to these parts for work or tourism I will make a fixed stop at the "Baita".

Cena in due in questo ristorante.. personale gentile… abbiamo preso due antipasti: uno sciatt, nella media, un carpaccio di cervo sublime. Abbiamo ordinato due secondi: con la mia tagliata di manzo ho chiesto un po’ di polenta taragna dí accompagnamento. Un dolce, niente di che
Al momento del conto sinceramente non pensavo che per l’aggiunta della taragna venisse richiesto un incremento di ben 9€!!!

I have been going to Caspoggio for "only" 48 years (since I was practically born there, while my parents were there on holiday...) and the Baita al Doss in Sant'Elisabetta has always been one of my favorite places, a fixed stop, a guarantee to bring us old and new friends. Well-executed and carefully prepared traditional dishes, top quality ingredients (the jewel in the crown? the game), attentive and friendly service, excellent quality/price ratio, warm and welcoming environment. Ezio, the historical manager, is number one! Highly recommended!

I went there with 10 friends for New Year's Eve dinner. I didn't know this restaurant, but everyone told me good things about it. Sometimes when you have certain expectations you end up disappointed.
This restaurant far exceeded my expectations.
They placed us in the most beautiful wooden room (but everything else is also very beautiful)
The menu: everything really excellent!!! I particularly loved the sciatt, the manfrigole, the ravioli stuffed with pheasant and the roe deer roast beef (but the very tender beef medallion was also excellent).
We preferred an excellent Nebbiolo from the Langhe rather than the expected strained one, probably superior, but which we considered excessive throughout the meal.
Canonical, unforeseen extra, excellent cotechino with lentils.
The price: really low: in addition to the excellent dishes, beers, unlimited wine and a bottle of excellent grappa at the end.
The staff: competent, friendly, friendly, extremely available for any need despite the understandable commitment for the evening.
We had a really great time
I want to try it again for a "normal" lunch/dinner, but if the New Year's Eve dinner was like this I think it will only be equally excellent
I highly recommend it to everyone

Classic mountain restaurant but with something extra. Excellent menu and good cellar. Friendly and professional owner. If you have Fabiano, 100 cum laude, I recommend the chocolate sphere.....
