The restaurant is located in the center of Mantua, it offers a menu with traditional Mantuan dishes and we were very happy because all the dishes were very good. Excellent service with very kind and attentive staff. Fair price.

Characteristic place in the historic center. Genuine food served in an informal atmosphere. The cheese appetizer with mustard, the pumpkin tortelli in its variations, and also the pike in green sauce are excellent. Fast and kind service. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a nice place to return to.

Onestà e correttezza per questa trattoria in centro storico a Mantova. Piatti tradizionali di buona qualità, prezzi adeguati, con primi piatti sui 14 euro, accettabile ricarica sui vini, e cortesia apprezzata. Semplice ed essenziale l' arredamento, le stoviglie e il tovagliato.

The restaurant is located in a fascinating historic building (former convent) and offers the possibility of eating outdoors, season permitting. The menu offers dishes from the Mantua cuisine which I found very good and well prepared. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Like most of the best things in life, I came across the Ai Garibaldini restaurant in Mantua by pure chance. I am visiting Mantua with my family on the Saturday before Easter and when it comes time to book a table for lunch I don't know which way to turn: the historic center is full of small restaurants close to the pedestrian area, but the crowds lead me to look up internet a quieter place, with authentic Mantuan cuisine. We come across this restaurant which is located in a hidden side street near the (magnificent) Basilica of Sant'Andrea. The street entrance opens onto a very nice small courtyard, used as an outdoor area in the warmer seasons. We have lunch inside, where we are welcomed by a simple and very sober structure, a real eighteenth-century trattoria with wooden tables and white walls. The gastronomic offer is entirely local: we start with some excellent cured meats, a DIVINE cotechino that I don't think I have ever tasted elsewhere in all of Lombardy and the pleasant discovery of the "gras pista", which I promptly renamed the "Nutella of cured meats " (keep away from bread, it causes serious addiction). We stop at the first courses so as not to weigh ourselves down too much in view of the afternoon visit to Palazzo Te: my wife orders some macaroni with donkey stew, I order the typical pumpkin tortelli in butter and sage. Both are excellent: the former are livelier and spicier, the latter obviously sweeter and more aromatic. We are amazed when we taste the pasta with ragù taken by our daughter: unexpectedly the ragù is not the traditional one but is made with sausage and in its simplicity it is tasty and truly delicious. We finish with two coffees and the bill is absolutely reasonable and correct compared to the quality of the raw material. We are sorry not to have tried the second courses or the local desserts, but it is an excellent excuse to return to the banks of the Mincio very soon.

Capitati per caso in questa trattoria, abbiamo avuto modo di godere della cucina e della quiete del posto. siamo arrivati tardi e c'erano pochissimi clienti riuscendo così ad essere serviti in maniera rapida e cortese. Locale storico molto caratteristico, soprattutto il patio esterno. Cibo tipico mantovano molto buono. Personale super cortese ed affabile pronto a soddisfare ogni richiesta. Lo consiglio vivamente. Prezzi onesti. Vale la pena di tornarci sicuramente!
