Ristobar Campeggio Obelisco In Trieste

We spent two days at the campsite. Everything was perfect. Camping the way I like it: terraces, basic restrooms, very friendly welcome. Good restaurant and great sea view. If you're looking for luxury camping, this is definitely not the place for you.

Very basic campsite. The restrooms are very clean, unless the restaurant is busy. The restaurant is highly recommended. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Campsite located in the hills above Trieste. Under the trees, it's cool off-season. Restaurant, toilet, shower, dishwashing area, and laundry room. Bus and tram stop nearby. Friendly welcome. Location a bit steep.

Hello! At first, we were intimidated by the approach. We had driven up without a reservation, and after registering, the friendly man on his Vespa led us up the hill. We had to wait a few minutes to even get to the parking space. But this spot is an experience! Very beautifully situated for a view over Trieste, very well located for a ride on the historic tram! (TIP: first take the tram to the final stop, Opicina, buy the return ticket there.) We spent two quiet nights, and the restrooms were very clean! We were lucky enough to get a spot without a reservation, but that might be difficult during the holiday season...so: make a reservation! Extremely unsuitable for large vehicles weighing 7.5 tons or more!

Main reason for posting is the directions given by Google Maps to get to this campsite! I followed the map and turned off the main road onto a track. That was a big mistake, the track just serves a few houses and it gets narrower and narrower and eventually we could see the campsite through the trees. We couldn’t reverse and couldn’t turn round so we had to carry on and just managed to get through with some small damage to the paintwork . The correct route is very simple and accessed off the main road between Opicina and Trieste. Don’t trust Google maps!

Very good location for exploring beautiful Trieste. We were there at the beginning of May. The tram and bus are close to the campsite. Beautiful views over the city. The cogwheel tram is an experience! We got home safely in the evening by bus. The site had some bad luck at the beginning of May: a fire caused by camping guests. Several campers, including caravans and cars, burned down completely. The owners aren't responsible for this! A sad sight! They gave us a special price. We were only there for one night anyway. The access road is steep, and you hope there's no oncoming traffic! It worked out with our 7-meter Sprinter van despite oncoming traffic. The campsite is large and has some very nice viewing spots higher up, more suited to longer stays. The bar in the morning was very useful for cappuccino and brioche. The restroom facilities are OK. Highly recommended!

Wir haben bei unserem Campingaufenthalt gleich bei unserer Ankunft super leckere Pasta gegessen. Es war so gut, dass wir an den beiden folgenden Tagen ebenfalls Fisch und Meeresfrüchte genossen haben. Typisch italienische Küche, angenehm entspannte und sehr sympathische Bedienung.
