17/12/2024: In the company of six friends, one of whom has been frequenting the place for countless years, we find ourselves in this charming and historic Testaccio osteria, renovated with an elegant but always familiar note, to taste traditional Roman cuisine, with some reinterpretations and an eye also aimed at the presentation of food. Numerous dishes were tried and shared, all delicious and particular not only for the intriguing combinations: cannelloni stuffed with creamed cod foam, skewers of mozzarella in carrozza, artichoke flan, beef tartare with cardoncelli mushrooms and bruschetta with baby octopus and anchovies. Accompanied by three excellent bottles of Sauvignon Vulcaia (Az. Inama) we could not avoid the traditional and timeless carbonara with half a rigatone, without disdaining the spaghettone ajo, ojo, chilli pepper, red prawn and lime (a real delicacy) or the fantastic pacchero octopus and ragù.
It would have been enough to get here to be sated to the right point, but as you know, one chat leads to another and so we found ourselves satisfyingly eating "scarpetta docet", tasty cubes of braised beef with confit cherry tomatoes.
Obligatory closing with coffee and bitters, among which I would like to point out the presence of 100 herbs Ballor.
Fast and informal service, honest bill for the quality/price ratio.
10/12/2024: As always, Osteria degli Amici always remains in first place. The place has been rearranged, a little more "cool" and less of an Osteria.... I was almost sorry! Now it's more elegant but it hasn't lost what matters! That is, the simplicity and goodness of their dishes. The quality is high and can be felt as much as the Roscioli bread that was brought to us as soon as we sat down. Coming here is an experience absolutely worth trying! Congratulations to both of you! You are very strong ♥️
