Rifugio Viola In Valdidentro

Valle bellissima per fare un’escursione non impegnativa adatta a tutti,paesaggio incantevole in una vallata molto aperta .Lasciata la strada statale si può decidere di lasciare la macchina e incamminarsi o di proseguire ,pagando un biglietto di transito e proseguire fino al parcheggio ad un paio di chilometri.i sentieri sono segnalati e la strada sterrata ti accompagna fino al rifugio e se si vuole ,si può proseguire fino al confine di Stato da dove si apre la vista sul Bernina.Abbiamo potuto assaggiare solo la torta ,ottima,perché il resto era finito ,rifugio era pieno,ma sono stati gentilissimi e’ meglio prenotareprima però se si decide di fermarsi a pranzo

Abbiamo pernottato e mangiato in rifugio. L'esperienza è stata generalmente positiva. Unica nota amara nel servizio a cena: ci viene chiesto a fine pasto se vogliamo il dolce, salvo poi, solo dopo la nostra risposta affermativa, svelarci che, era un extra a pagamento e dunque non incluso nella mezza pensione come il resto della cena. Tavolo a fianco stessa procedura. Conclusione: la furbizia prescinde la latitudine

To reach the refuge I recommend starting from Altumeira and not Arnoga. A convenient bus service takes you from the Arnoga car park to Altumeira and with a cart road you arrive at the refuge in an hour and twenty minutes. From Arnoga instead, I recommend leaving for Baita Caricc and Rifugio Dosdé. Val Viola is wonderful!!! 🌺🌺🌺

Gorgeous place surrendered by awesome mountains, very simple path from parking p4 all long the valley, We arrived while then owner cooking a traditional polenta on wood fire owen, smell of warm home. One of the best trip to do.

We stayed on August 24th and had lunch after we reached the Val Viola pass. The lunch was excellent, the idea of ​​a sandwich with polenta and sausage was spectacular, polenta was crunchy at the right point, practically a Michelin restaurant, but at high altitude. Polenta with stew and blueberry cake are no exception.😋

UPDATE August 2024: we had the pleasure of spending the night in the refuge with our 5.5 year old child, everything was perfect, welcome, service, dinner and cleanliness. The night spent in Val Viola was unforgettable also thanks to the managers of the refuge. Go there!!!!! Refuge 8km from Arnoga reachable on foot or by bike or ebike. The first section is asphalted and then the mule track is well maintained and easy to cycle on. Fixed menu lunch or dishes with polenta or typical food. Very honest prices and above all very friendly and helpful staff. I can only suggest I suggest booking both external and internal. They are worth a visit for the warmth given. Very clean place. We were with a 3 year old child and they did everything to please him given his hunger 👏👏👏👏 The valley has little to say, I think one of the most beautiful places visited. You can also start from Torri di Fraele by cycling the Decauville AR 38 km.
