A magical place where you can taste all the specialties of Roman cuisine (and not only) in a vegan version. The food is exquisite, the carbonara (vegan) is out of this world. The place is located a stone's throw from the station, it is small and always crowded so it is always best to book. The service is punctual, kind and courteous.

When I went there at 11:00 when the restaurant opened, I was told that carbonara would be served from 12:00 p.m.🥲 Moreover, it was a Saturday and it was very crowded, so I felt like I couldn't get in for lunch without a reservation. If you are looking for carbonara, we recommend making a reservation after 12:00!

Michelin Guide menu, the classic Roman dishes seem authentic (I'm an omnivore). The place has small dimensions and the tables are a few centimeters apart from each other and therefore you have the sensation of being at the table together with the neighboring tables.
We did not receive a warm welcome typical of Roman restaurants and we waited 45 minutes between the first and second courses (we had also ordered an appetizer first) and therefore we were no longer hungry to finish. It's a shame because with small attentions to service and timing, the Rifugio has what it takes to get into all the guides at menu level.
I recommend booking well in advance, with 7 days notice we still ate outside during the month of February
