Rifugio Ristorante Gitschhutte In Rio di pusteria

A super beautiful hut with a wonderful view. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the food is delicious. We had Kaiserschmarrn and apricot dumplings, both freshly made at prices you can hardly get here or in Tyrol (and, as I said, freshly made and not frozen). The only thing that's a shame is the high cable car prices. I know it's not the hut's fault, but if you're not very good on foot but enjoy being up in the mountains, you'll have to pay €60 for two people to enjoy the view at the top and buy the delicious food. (And before the self-appointed guardians of humanity start yelling again, "...you can walk up, then you save yourself the train ride...", let me tell them that there may be people who have always been in the mountains but can no longer manage it on their own due to age or medical problems (e.g., stroke).

Fantastic refuge at 2200 meters!

A splendid refuge at 2,200 meters on the road to Monte Cuzzo. Excellent food, great hospitality, good beers—in short, everything you need for a good break before heading out again. Recommended if you're passing through these parts. Top!

We had lunch upon returning from our excursion, and it was 3:00 PM. The staff welcomed us with incredible courtesy and quickly prepared three delicious dishes for us. My favorite was eggs, speck, and potatoes!!! The quality of the ingredients was excellent, and the skill in preparing the dishes was truly remarkable. The view was spectacular. I'd go back tomorrow! The basil spritz was also excellent (it's not a real spritz, but it's fantastic).

Great hut with great food and outstanding service!

Really nice place, we stopped for lunch, super kind waiters, we took a mixed platter, which was out of this world.... a pasta with tomato sauce for my daughter, a portion of chips, and a coffee.. at only 31 euros, a super fair price.

The mushroom dumplings were delicious!! And the location is gorgeous too!! A balcony overlooking the Pusteria Valley!!

A refuge at 2200m, easy to reach after the cable car. It has a lovely trail with many wooden animals for children. The place is very well-kept and welcoming. The food is plentiful and very good. A small playground with balance courses, bouncers, and swings.

First time in Maranza, reached the refuge by cable car, spectacular views of the Lower Puster Valley. The refuge offers excellent food and welcoming staff; it's worth the effort to get up there.

Great view for a break with Tyrolean specialties. However, we weren't impressed by the Kaiserschmarrn. The service was very friendly and attentive. Our daughter really enjoyed the playground. The restrooms can be used for €0.50 without consuming anything in the restaurant. The restrooms are well-maintained.
