Rifugio Marco Balicco In Mezzoldo

inside a valley at the foot of Pegherolo is a modern refuge, simple but modern. Reachable from both Madonna delle Nevi and Passo San Marco in just over an hour and a half. interior with few places to eat, but very bright... about forty seats outdoors. large outdoor space between rocks and grass. the Nepalese dish DAL updated with polenta is excellent.

I have had the best vacation in years. The service, the food, the location are 10. Thanks to Lucca, Silvia, Mile, Eric, Mario, Edo, Virgilio (I'm sure I left someone) and all the clients and people who are like a big family there.

Both for those who are just going for a ride but above all for those who want to stop and sleep and a nice place to unplug

We parked in Mezzoldo loc. Fraccia at the height of turn 9 for the San Marco pass. There are very few places on the roadside. Alternatively you can reach the Madonna delle Nevi refuge by car, a path also starts from there but is longer. The path we followed (124A) is given for an hour and a half, it took us two hours with an eight year old child. The route does not present any particular difficulties, just crossing some streams and some uphill sections. Along the route you come across a couple of huts selling mountain cheese. Outside the refuge it is possible to stop at picnic tables. The refuge is small with places both inside and outside and the possibility of staying overnight. The managers are very welcoming and helpful. Silvia is the best!!! The cakes are excellent!!! Next time we will also stop for lunch ‐------------ Mid-August 2024 update: as promised we returned to also taste the cuisine and we confirm the positive opinion. Hospitality always at the top (thanks to Silvia and little Amelia ❤️), really good lunch (scarpinocc absolutely worth trying, delicious!! With thick pastry as I like it!!). Desserts confirmed, delicious (vegan shortcrust pastry with turmeric approved!!). A truly pleasant Ferragosto, see you next time.....

Refuge reachable via a beautiful panoramic route. Also suitable for children. The refuges make you feel at home, pampering you and trying to satisfy the needs of even the littlest ones. You eat like God, I'm telling you... even for VEGANS. The Orobie trail, 101, starts from the refuge, making it a recommended stop to then be able to move at high altitude

Beautiful location, with breathtaking views. We had a great lunch despite the crowd, we were served quickly by friendly staff who were ready to joke with everyone. Excellent desserts and the walk to reach the refuge is beautiful

Beautiful refuge with vegan dishes and desserts too! I think it's the first refuge I've found with this availability and it's not to be underestimated :) Stunning place, even the walk to reach it is very pleasant! We started from the Madonna delle Nevi refuge. The DAL (Nepali lentil soup) is super recommended, I loved it!!! good :)

Very beautiful refuge, which is not always a given, the landscape you pass through to reach it is extremely beautiful, we arrived from path 124a (then 124) which starts from hairpin bend number 9 of the road that goes up to the San Marco pass. Excellent food, really nice managers and very honest prices. A welcome 6 stars I dare say. We didn't stay overnight but I'm sure in that case our opinion wouldn't change.

Excellent cuisine and friendliness.

Nice refuge nestled in the mountains, easy trekking and accessible to everyone. Along the route we also found the sale of typical cheeses. At the refuge we ate well; excellent hospitality.
