Truly unique experience! The managers are truly wonderful people and know how to welcome you as if you were at home! Dishes really worth trying, one better than the other! They had a delay in serving us but immediately offered us a platter as an apology. We have never had a truly unique service like this before!

Beautifully located with a view of the Dolomites! From there you can hike to the “Col Margherita”/San Pellegrino summit. The view is breathtaking!

Beautiful, well-kept refuge and not too crowded. There are outdoor and indoor tables. Clean bathrooms. Excellent cuisine with honest prices for a high altitude refuge. Suitable for little ones for the little attention and games available to entertain them both inside and outside. Last but not least breathtaking 360 degree panorama.

We left from our Rosen Garten campsite in Pozza di Fassa, by car, and climbed to the Valles pass (2032m.). From here the path to the Laresei refuge starts, it can be done on foot, about 240 m. of fairly easy altitude difference, we opted for the ride by Jeep, in fact we booked lunch and the owner made himself available! Arriving comfortably in 5 minutes, we sat down for an aperitif on the beautiful covered terrace, but with a 360° view of the Dolomites! We had lunch inside as there was a slight fresh air! Great food and professional service! We had a choice of their typical dishes brought to us, I personally preferred tagliatelle with wild boar and venison chops! A delicacy! Speaking to the owner, who is also the "chef", he reassured me that he chooses the meat personally! After the desserts, they also offered us digestives (grappa 903). Before returning we enjoyed the view of the Dolomites, from the San Pellegrino pass, with the Marmolada in the background, going in circles up to Col Margherita, continuing the Focobon and Mulaz group, Pelmo and Civetta, and again... the Pale di San Martino. What can I say? Excellent refuge and wonderful view!

Beautiful refuge, well-kept and recently restored, in an enviable position with a beautiful view.
I ate an excellent and rich platter with a view of the mountains.
It could have been a 5 star but I'm stopping at 4 for several reasons.
1. Prices: really high for a "normal" mountain refuge.
2. Very few seats outside: really a shame given that there is plenty of room on the patio, there was at least another row of tables if not more.
3. The bread for the sandwiches ran out at 1.45pm... I understand the high turnout but many people ate other dishes...
4. Music with the speaker out. Here too, I understand that you have to please young people but honestly hearing commercial music in your ears when I'm in an isolated refuge at 2260 meters above sea level in the middle of beautiful mountains annoys me.
5. Long queue for the women's bathroom (while the men's bathroom was empty). I suggest eliminating the gender distinction and leaving the bathrooms free for everyone at least in moments of very high attendance.
6. Brown bread is very bitter and covers the taste of cold cuts. I would suggest bringing less or not bringing any at all.
