Beautiful refuge. Excellent as a base for beautiful walks/hikes in the valley. Delicious food, almost all home-made. Excellent management with young, fast service. A place to return to.

A true oasis of peace! Small paths in the woods, small old villages perched on the rocks, some renovated. The refuge offers excellent cuisine, simple dishes to enjoy with friends, outdoors or inside with a breathtaking view! You can stay in beautiful rooms or rustic apartments to fully enjoy the mountains! A must-try!

The refuge is located in Valli era in Val Grana, accessible by car or by a trail from the village of Colletto. Excellent traditional dishes, especially the Castelmagno gnocchi.

Beautifully renovated hamlet at an altitude of about 1500 meters. It has a small restaurant. The owners are a young, friendly couple, and she speaks English. Be sure to bring plenty of groceries, as the village is accessible via a steep, narrow path. But it's a fantastic place to be/walk...

The food was excellent, the service was friendly, young and fast. The road to get there was tough, but for an alpine refuge that you should be able to reach on foot, everything was fine.

Beautiful village, the owners Elena and Pietro are fantastic, they make you feel at home.
Aldo, the chef, is also fantastic, with typical mountain cuisine made with carefully selected ingredients.
An excellent place for hiking too.
We left the car in the Colletto village and then took a path towards Campofei, reaching Valliera in about an hour. It's a very picturesque and panoramic route, but there's also the option of driving to the refuge on a paved road.
Well done, guys!!!

A beautiful refuge in a village where time seems to have stood still. Beautifully renovated, run by helpful and kind people.
We had lunch outside overlooking the valley, ordered a trio of appetizers (I still think of that delicious nettle frittata!!! 🤤🤤🤤...), polenta with sausage, and Castelmagno gnocchi, and everything was delicious! The rooms for overnight stays have private bathrooms.
The road to get there is very narrow, but if you're used to walking, you can leave your car in Campomolino and walk there in less than an hour.

Having had the chance to discover this village a little by chance, we put our bags down there for 4 days, which allowed us to live peacefully to the rhythm of the surrounding nature and the few people living or working there this summer. The welcome of the refuge staff and the quality of the meals served contributed greatly to the memory that we will keep of our delicious weekend. Thanks also to Kumar, who came from the Indian Punjab, for having shown us his production of the famous local cheese Castelmagno which he masters perfectly from the top of the village. On the hiking side, the round trip to Narbonne (3 hours) and the ridge circuit via the Bustia pass and the Magdalena pass (4-5 hours) will offer you all the varied beauty of the place.
