So, first of all, my deepest sympathy and respect for those who attempt the refuge (despite it not being a "high-altitude" refuge). In winter, I think it's difficult due to transportation... and in summer, it's very crowded, since you can also get there by car, with all the inconveniences that entails depending on the type of people arriving. It certainly doesn't please everyone, that's normal. However, I was there during a quiet period; the food offering is typical of refuges; I wasn't looking for anything else, but the attention to detail in the dishes should be better controlled. In my case, the pastin was badly burned on the outside (black), so much so that I had to "fix" it to eat half of it. I understand a lot of things: family-run? The slightly dated kitchen equipment? Or maybe just a bad day and a poor eye for what's on the plate? I'll go back for a tour and reassess.

I passed through the Alta Vía 3 route and stayed one night with half-board at the refuge. The facilities are fine. Micaela, the manager, cooks excellent food and will help you in any way she can.

Magnificent place reached after an hour of quiet walk from Zoppe' di Cadore. Mother and daughter who run the Refuge are exquisite people.
