The refuge is beautiful, intimate, and welcoming, with a breathtaking view. The hosts are super nice, and the food is delicious; they even accommodated our vegan request! Peace, relaxation, and positive vibes are the perfect backdrop to this wonderful place. Highly recommended.

I spent a wonderful day at the Rifugio Dumenza, at Alpe Bois. The place is stunning, completely immersed in nature. The owners were very friendly, helpful, and truly welcoming. I ate some truly delicious cakes: it was a truly wonderful discovery. I'll definitely be back!

I thought Matteo was impossible to replace, but I was wrong: the family—cook Jessica, woodcutter Fabio, and daredevil Elias—has managed to further improve the look and cuisine of this truly delightful place with a spectacular view of Lake Maggiore. Reservations are essential (there are no refrigerators, and groceries are made fresh and based on the number of guests booked). This year, you'll also find the legendary Feijoa, whose jam pairs wonderfully with goat's and cow's milk cheeses aged in hay.

03/05/2026: I went for lunch today, Sunday, May 3rd, with my boyfriend. Beautiful location, stunning lakefront view, tranquility, peace, and serenity. We had lake meatballs as an appetizer: delicious, and the sauce was exquisite. Then, two main courses: my boyfriend had a very light and tasty fried fish; while I had the gratin cuttlefish: plentiful and delicious (the sauce was a 10+). At the beginning, they also brought us warm bread, which was also delicious. Highly recommended: Excellent service, super friendly owners, delicious food. Excellent value for money. The girls who served us were very kind; Giada, the owner, was super friendly; her boyfriend and chef were excellent.
