If it were possible to reach it with a shuttle I would go more often

Simply wonderful place. I returned after several years because I really wanted to see the majesty of those mountains again. Good food and the typical welcome of a refuge I gave 5 stars for this. The only thing I complain about, but which cannot be blamed on the managers of the refuge, are the terrible conditions of the road which should be closed in the valley. Indeed, I urge managers to become spokespersons for a need that I do not believe is far-fetched. Thank you.

If I could have given half a star less I would have done so, but not for anything related to the structure itself, but rather because the road is actually accessible to vehicles so you lose a bit of that perception of "exclusivity" linked to the effort of having reached a place, let's say with difficulty, but the sunset repays it 100% Unfortunately in our case, although the dinner, the ownership, the company at dinner, the cleanliness of the structure itself were all absolutely more than satisfactory, the usual group of careless or "Sunday mountaineers" could not be missing. Even though they were accompanied by a guide, who left, if not enriched, them to do their own thing, they decided that when they woke up they had to wake up the whole dormitory complete with torches in their faces, laughter, etc etc. at 3:30, panicking for more than an hour. Let me be clear, I don't make it a question of time, if you have to leave at 1, 2, 3, anything is fine, but you prepare the night before so you avoid waking up anyone who has different times than yours.. As much as we (a small group of three people) also wanted to see the sunrise, we were careful not to create the same delirium and in a couple of minutes we went out to see it from the collar above the refuge... beautiful and I recommend it!! In short, apart from this incident which for those who usually sleep in shelters knows well that can happen often, it was a good support that I will take into consideration again, certainly for dinner!!

Reachable by car (with care), motorbike and bicycle it is fantastic for the location. It offers simple and discreet meals (cold cuts, cheeses, polenta and pasta, excellent cakes). It has beds in separate compartments and a single (discreet) bathroom, without particular demands, but functional. Ideal starting point for excursions at high altitude, it is essential to be able to reach it by car, the ascent on foot from the valley is too long and becomes demanding if you also want to aim for the nearby peaks, which are however within reach if you reach the refuge by car car or motorbike.
