One of my favourite ‘huts’ in the area. Friendly service, excellent hot chocolate (especially with cream and rum!) and possibly the best Kaiserschmarrn in the Dolomites! Amazing views from the terrace or the lawn overlooking the mountains.

Wonderful, both for the view and the style and interior decor of the refuge. Lunch prices are remarkably high, having risen as is the case with almost all refuges these days.

A warm and professional welcome awaits you, with a large terrace and spectacular views. After lunch, a lounge area awaits, and there's also a lovely children's area. All this, right in front of His Majesty Sassongher.

What a true Rifugio! The views are stunning and the rooms are lovely and generous. The common area is so welcoming with great views. The food here is truly amazing. Great hikes from here!

Great restaurant with stunning view from the panorama deck. Amazing location on top of the mountain. Only the view beats the food. Kaiserschmarnn and grappa were excellent! We want to come back there again.

Locale con una bellissima vista ma tavoli decisamente ravvicinati e il risultato è un locale abbastanza rumoroso. La trota che ho preso come antipasto non era male soprattutto grazie alla salsa con cui è stata accompagnata ma porzione davvero mini. Ottimi i ravioli di faraona, deludente il risotto con i finferli in cui si sente più il pomodoro dei funghi.

Cibo e vini di prima qualità, sembra di stare in un ristorante stellato, vista dolomiti, ottimo il rapporto qualità prezzo, tenendo conto anche dove è situato. Consigliatissimo

Everything in Gasthof Kohlern invites you to slowly appreciate the beauty of life: the natural environment, with an amazing view of the surrounding mountains; the cuisine, with delicious and refined dishes, the wines, the breakfasts; the simple elegance of the rooms; the peace and quiet; and last but not least, the generous and considerate kindness of the staff. Viele Dank: you make this place a perfect combination of charming and soothing.
24/10/2025: We only visited the restaurant after a short autumn hike. The view was beautiful, and we also had a snack in a wonderful setting. Thank you very much!
