Rifugio Città di Fiume In Borca di cadore

Lovely place with a good wiev and friendly cows. We passed rifugio Cotta di Fiume on the way to Col Galina on our Alta Via 1 trip. We came from Rifugio Stalunza witch was a 45m hike. We hade som Applepie, two fruitjucies and two cokes. Super friendly staff and good services. Can really recommend this place. Alta Via 1 trail passes next to the rifugio.

Comfy beds, friendly staff , nice grassy bit to relax/sunbathe on. The 5G was good enough for us to watch England in the semi final on our phones (quietly of c) and the lovely rifugio owner gave us commiseration shots when we lost 🧡

Beautiful place and excellent cuisine

It can be reached on foot in less than two hours. The route is entirely uphill but not too challenging. Upon arrival, the scenery is beautiful and the refuge simple but hospitable. I didn't sleep or have lunch, so I can't comment.

The route starting from the Cadore campsite (1.5 hours) is very beautiful. It's an excellent base for lunch and the return to the campsite follows part of the path that leads to the Venezia refuge. (You descend from the scree slopes of Mount Pelmo.)

The refuge is reached with a comfortable walk of about an hour. Once you reach the halfway point, you can admire a sublime landscape that spans from the Marmolada to the Civetta, with a privileged view of Mount Pelmo. A simple but tasty lunch, accompanied by an excellent beer, is served.
