Rifugio Campiglio In Dumenza

I visited the Campiglio refuge at the end of the summer. The mixed antipasti platter was delicious, with generous portions, perfect for sharing. I then had the pork shank with baked potatoes. Exceptional! The best shank I've ever had, perfectly cooked, soft and moist. The apple pie was also very good. Good service and excellent value. A must-try, especially on a sunny day to enjoy the view outside!

A refuge above Luino, beneath Mount Lema, with an exceptional panoramic view. The refuge offers simple, home-style, local cuisine. Prices aren't cheap, but it's important to keep this place open, as it's mostly open on weekends. A suggestion: a few lounge chairs to enjoy while relaxing.

Campiglio refuge in the Pradecollo Alps, we are above Luino on the border with Switzerland, where we had lunch with friends, on the terrace of the refuge with a spectacular view of Lake Maggiore.

Was the only place which we find a room for the night, was a great choice, the road to reach the rifugio is tough, but I love it, I enjoyed very much, narrow, steep climb and many tight corners, super cool. Reached the top you will be amazed by the view. Get to the room, which is clean and very basic and most importantly: no TV. Dinner time, menu was not big, which I like, changing according to was is available; we had one of the best seafood dishes, in the mountain? Yes indeed, brought here direct from Puglia. Home made cake high recommended. amazing food, huge compliments to the chef. View and nature do the rest. Breakfast simple but covers all the taste, home made cake still the queen, but there is pancake, salame, croissant and so more. Great people. Good English speaking. High recommended. Enjoy the drive.

We had an excellent meal and received super friendly service! Rifugio cuisine with that special something! Homemade bread and breadsticks... super delicious! Highly recommended after a hike up Monte Lema! Ribs, venison goulash, and ravioli... a poem, and the baked potatoes... incantevole... see you soon 👍🫶
