Rifugio Bugone In Moltrasio

We love this refuge!!!! Easy to reach and delicious cuisine! All accompanied by the kindness and hospitality of the guys who run it and who do everything with passion! Also ideal for families, children can play safely even outside the refuge! The location is wonderful, warm and welcoming in winter with a wood-burning fireplace, in summer outdoor tables with a breathtaking lake view!! I highly recommend it!!

We really liked this place. They serve very decent food, which is good value, especially as it's up in the hills. The desserts were particularly good. Pleasant staff, and an amiable resident dog which wanders around inspecting the clients. We walked up from Moltrasio which took about 90 mins at a brisk hike, though the return way down was a bit knee jarring. The rifugio wasn't too busy as we were there early in the season - but booking highly recommended (and much preferred by the team who run it). They accept electronic payments, but the internet can be temperamental up there, so worth having cash as a backup.

What a place wowwwww!!! We ate divinely!! Polenta with braised meat that melted in your mouth, excellent cured meats and cheeses as well as sciatt, goat, pizzoccheri and tagliolini with venison ragout...super honest prices! All the very kind staff made us feel at home... truly wonderful view! A special thank you to Moira for welcoming and pampering us from start to finish

I didn't enter the refuge, but I took several photos because it is a beautiful place, with views of Lake Como. The forest is very beautiful, with spectacular beech trees

Spectacular refuge, in my opinion the best in the Como pre-Alps, divine chopping boards and polenta uncia (my friends also had polenta and venison and pizzoccheri, with excellent reviews) and really good homemade cake, what can I say, despite the high-calorie dishes and demanding I digested everything immediately, a sign of the quality and freshness of the products used, a very intimate and warm environment, suitable for conviviality, kind staff attentive to our every need, what can I say, me and my friends we will be back very soon! Ps: non-negligible and very important detail, very honest prices (polenta uncia at €8 and cake at €5)❤️

I could define it as a paradise for tired hikers, because once you enter you are part of that warm world of the mountains with a typical environment, simple and delicious local dishes, quantities to satisfy even the most tired, prices absolutely in line with the general offer

A young staff with a great desire to do distinguishes the management of the Bugone. Thank you for letting us spend a wonderful Christmas Eve staying with you just as we wanted: staying in the peace of nature while also enjoying your delicious dishes! A note of merit for the venison and polenta morsels, among the best eaten. Highly recommended for both the excellent food and the hospitality!
