Rifugio Albergo Monte Avaro In Cusio

4 of us looked for a place on a winter Sunday without having booked, but, obviously, given the high turnout that always characterizes this refuge of which many are fond, there were no free tables. However, we rightly adapted to an arrangement on the outside tables, which are not used in winter. The dishes were very good, even if the staff used ways that were not always kind to deal with customers, and we had to wait inside for plates and cutlery to be delivered to us to serve ourselves independently: so far, no problem, if you don't consider that they made us pay for four covers. Among other things, the refuge is certainly not difficult to reach even for the supply of various materials, because it overlooks a road that is almost always clean and passable, which is why I would have expected lower prices.

I have known the place for some time but for the first time I stopped to eat at the restaurant of the Monte Avaro refuge. I had a wonderful lunch, large portions of excellent quality food. I had a starter for 2 and pasta with ragu. fully satisfied. I praise the staff who, even with a lot of people, offer good service suitable for families and children. I recommend trying the bombardino! Exceptional!

Beautiful morning spent surrounded by snow-capped mountains, had lunch in this warm refuge where we tasted delicious typical dishes, friendly and kind staff, well done!!!

We had lunch with the family on Sunday 02 February in the second shift at 13.00 and I must say that we had a great time both in terms of the quality of the food and the service. They served us without making us wait and both the first and second courses (especially venison with taragna) were really good. Congratulations also considering the high turnout of people. Prices in line with other refuges. Recommended!!!

Like every year we only had lunch and it was always very good. I always recommend booking in advance.

I went to this refuge for a group dinner of 30 people. Friendly staff, generous portions, tasty food. Negative note: overall I found the dinner a little salty. For 30 euros: starter, main course, dessert, water, 1/2 red wine per person, coffee, bitters. They also OFFERED us a taste of casoncelli

Cucina interessante. Servizio molto cordiale e spigliato, anche se nel contesto di ristorante di montagna. Piatti tipici da montagna bergamasca, un po' rivisti, senz'altro buoni.
