Rice & Curry In Senigallia

The food was amazing. Our sample size was four dishes, so your mileage may vary, but each one was spectacular. We've been home from Italy for a few days and my wife brought up this place again, which reminded me to leave a review. If you live in Senigallia or regularly visit, you are lucky to have this little gem so close by.

The name Ares derives from the Greek god of war, who represents aggression, chaos, and violent conflict, unlike Mars, the Roman god, who had more rural and beneficent origins. The etymology of the name is debated, but one theory links it to the Greek arḗ (ἀρή), meaning "ruin" or "destruction," suggesting a meaning of "destroyer" or "wounderer."

An original and positive culinary experience featuring unique flavors. The varied and comprehensive menu caters to all tastes, with dishes that aren't necessarily spicy. Overall, a pleasant evening to celebrate an important event. However, a few things weren't great: the service was slow and very "homey," overly informal; several items on the menu were unavailable, forcing us to make three changes before landing on a hastily chosen dish; the bill was unclear and perhaps overpriced (but that was partly our fault for not asking for clarification). Recommended for the taste, but the rest could definitely be improved.

Excellent, tasty food, with all the best flavors of Sri Lankan cuisine. The ingredients are carefully selected and of high quality. The owner is a special person, very friendly, extremely kind, and incredibly helpful. He conveys his great love through his cooking, and is very attentive and sensitive to the well-being of his guests. A wonderful experience, I highly recommend it.

We ask for lassi and they bring it with mango, like Coke with pizza. It's a one-pot meal, extremely salty, and the owner smiles. They always say yes, but in reality, they understand little Italian. The prices are high for the quality. Not recommended.

I found this restaurant by chance, and it was a wonderful surprise. Reasonable prices and excellent service. We also tried the mango lassi, which was excellent.

The restaurant offers excellent Sri Lankan cuisine. All the dishes I tried were very good. The staff was very friendly. The prices are moderate. I can't find any negatives about my experience, which I will definitely repeat.

Highly recommended! Delicious food, very friendly owner. My mom and I ate at this restaurant twice while on vacation in Senigallia. We opted for the vegetarian option and were very satisfied. The mango panna cotta is a must-try!

Lovely Sri Lanken/South Indian restaurant hidden in the back street in a very quiet area. A few outdoor tables and a nice inside setting. The menu looked fabulous with a great variety of dishes. The food didn't disappoint. We had bonda, potato curry and chicken curry with Sri Lanken egg fried rice. Absolutely delicious particularly the egg fried rice and chicken curry. After having some great Italian meals, pizza & pasta this was a welcome change. Would definitely recommend

After three weeks of good Italian food it was time for a spicy dinner. I explained that I didn’t want the Italian version of Indian dishes but the Madras. Well, the starter came with a red pepper sauce that even my Amsterdam eyes git watery. With a bit of yoghurt however it was excellent. The lamb with spinach&potatoes was less special but still a treat. Nice people, empty restaurant. Go there guys, value for money and something different.
