Restaurant Apostelstube In Bressanone

A beautiful, traditional hotel where the Habsburgs once stayed. Large hotel park with a pool and tennis courts across the street. A very good "regular" restaurant and a small Michelin-starred restaurant. Modern wellness area with a sauna and steam room. The name comes from an elephant who stopped in Brixen in the 16th century as a gift to the Habsburg court. A mural on the hotel's outer wall commemorates this event.

In “The Elefant Restaurant” (not apostle restaurant), generally good dishes were served, but with surprising technical errors and a lack of balance, considering that a star-rated kitchen is served in the same establishment. The place setting was served with almost frozen butter that had crumbled apart (no spreadability). The (frozen) hazelnut soufflé was a delicious dessert, but it has nothing to do with a soufflé in terms of appearance or consistency; it could rather be described as a parfait (also taking into account that a frozen soufflé is not the same as a classic soufflé). The veal carpaccio had a very dominant acetic acidity and could have been more balanced. In the case of the veal cheek, a drop of oil was draped on the edge of the plate, but additional drops would have done the dish a lot of good as it was very “flat”. In addition, a little fleur de sel or salt crystals would have rounded off the dish better. Unfortunately not enough for the price and expectations.

The most beautiful place in all of Brixen!!! We ate in the restaurant yesterday and were pampered with every little detail, in a way that is rarely experienced these days. The food and drinks were excellent, I can only heartily recommend a visit to ELEFANT! A big thank you to the owners, who leave no stone unturned to make sure you feel comfortable and enjoy yourself! THANK YOU, and we'll definitely be back!!!

I loved this hotel, it's a little expensive but worth it. The staff is very kind, night and day. A peaceful 18th century hotel, very clean and quiet, with impeccable parking. I recommend it, especially to lovers.
