Food was solid, but the service was harried and haphazard, due to seemingly new servers, and a management that seems to be rigid and focused more on the hierarchy than serving the customer. Among other issues was making the overwhelmed, but very friendly, wait staff riff through 6 complicated daily specials at each table, many who are listening in their second language...(Imagine that!) Maybe buy a printer? I tried ordering a specific bottle of wine 3 times and was told I had to order from my waiter, who was busy at multiple tables with the daily specials routine...With this time pressure they're STILL trying to turn tables... A real "casino totale"... This is no romantic trattoria, it's a money squeezing operation... But the food is good (not great), so somewhat redeemed...

They serve a Sicilian lemon olive oil with bread that's a real treat to eat. For me, it's the best carbonara in Rome. Reservations are required.

Excellent service and delicious food

Renato has achieved a challenging feat: making you feel like you're in a place that deeply respects (and perpetuates) Roman cuisine, yet where food is interpreted in diverse ways. He always manages to surprise you without sacrificing that touch of tradition and beautiful normality, as I call it, since I love feeling at home more than at a restaurant, but always with the pleasure of being surprised. The selection is wide and there's always a few specials of the day, almost inviting you to stop by again and try a bit of everything. Fish, meat, vegetables, desserts: it's all there, and it's even difficult to choose which path to take. Which means it's also nice to lose yourself along the path of flavors, allowing yourself to be amazed.

Great spot - didn't realize our first meal in Rome would be one of the best of the trip! Not touristy. We especially liked the carpaccio.

Pasta was a little disappointing. Bacon instead of guanciale, which wasn’t completely rendered. Cotoletta was nice without being amazing. Not fresh pasta… was odd to have rigatoni with the carbonara and not spaghetti.

So my wife and I literally stumbled into this wonderful restaurant. It was a long day, and we just need a bit of food. Wow, what an unbelievable surprise. It’s a single room which is simple and charming. The staff is amazing, so helpful and friendly. The food, well let’s just say perfect is the perfect word. I had the pasta with pancetta and my wife had the flank steak. You won’t go wrong with anything on this menu.

We had an exceptional meal here. Service was excellent. Very enjoyable atmosphere. Food was fresh and delicious. There was a nice mix of locals and tourists eating here. Would go back in a heartbeat.
