Rasputin was an incredible find in Florence. First, finding the door from the street is a little tricky and what makes it so mysterious. Once inside, you head to a basement area that makes you feel like you are in a true speakeasy from another era in time. This secret cocktail bar has comfy seating, candles burning on every table, great music playing, and a drink menu that is creative and delicious. The perfect place for a drink before you head out to dinner or a perfect night cap. You don't want to miss this experience.

Hidden beneath the city in a 14th-century cellar—once buried, later unearthed, and pressed into service as a bomb shelter during the Second World War—it possesses the sort of quiet dignity that only places touched by history can acquire. One is reminded of the England C.S. Lewis knew during the Blitz, where ancient stone vaults and church crypts became sanctuaries against the madness above. Here too, the old walls seem to whisper that civilizations endure not because they escape darkness, but because they outlast it. The staff were warm, gracious, and genuinely welcoming, making the experience feel intimate rather than theatrical. A practical note for visitors: cocktails are approximately €25 each, and the house signature drinks lean heavily toward Scotch, so those seeking lighter or sweeter spirits may wish to explore the broader menu. Rasputin is not inexpensive, nor is it meant to be. It is a place where history, craftsmanship, and atmosphere are poured into the glass alongside the spirits. Rasputin is absolutely worth seeking out. The hidden entrance is part of the experience, and once you find the door, you're rewarded with an incredibly cool atmosphere, outstanding cocktails, and genuinely lovely staff. Every drink was expertly made, and the whole experience felt special from start to finish. If you're in Florence and appreciate a great cocktail bar, don't miss this place.

Amazing atmosphere, impeccable service, and most importantly, I love visiting speakeasies and have been to many around the world, so when they charge €20 or more for a cocktail, I have incredibly high expectations. I have to say that in this case, they were fully met; truly remarkable. If I can just offer one piece of advice, some whiskey prices are a bit above average; if I justify the cocktail prices by their uniqueness, some prices, like the Machir Bay, for example, aren't really justified. Otherwise, 10/10 overall; I can only give it 5 stars.

Nice atmosphere and aesthetic, delicious drinks but when we sat down at the bar we noticed that everything was pre-made, taking away some of the magic of seeing the cocktails being mixed at the moment.

Dark themed, underground bar with amazing cocktail selection and whiskey list. Reservations a must. Would absolutely recommend. The black tourmaline was unbelievable. No food.

A hidden bar where only a small bell marks the entrance. A cozy, jazzy atmosphere. The servers are lovely and welcoming as long as you respect the rules: don't be too noisy, don't get up, and be considerate of the other tables. The cocktails are good, and while the menu seems simple, they have a lot of character. They focus heavily on bitter spirits like whisky and cognac. There's a small bug on their booking website where you're redirected to their Instagram post with no confirmation email or confirmation that your reservation has been made. You receive a confirmation email some time later (I had to delete one reservation because I had made two).
