I stopped by by chance while looking for a restaurant, and I was very satisfied. All the staff were kind, and thanks to their friendly service, I was able to dine comfortably. The atmosphere felt like a high-end restaurant, and the food was delicious. If I have the chance, I would definitely like to visit again. Thank you! Il personale è stato estremamente gentile e, grazie al loro servizio cordiale, ho potuto mangiare in totale tranquillità. I don't usually write reviews, but I had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant that I'm leaving one as soon as I got back to my accommodation haha. I stumbled upon this place by chance while looking for a restaurant for dinner during my trip to Matera. As a city steeped in thousands of years of history, this place perfectly captures the atmosphere of the past and the present by converting a space used by people long ago into a restaurant. The food was incredibly delicious, comparable to fine dining, and the prices were reasonable. I was particularly impressed by the service provided by the servers. I have experienced various restaurants while living in Italy, but I can guarantee that I received exceptionally good service here. Towards the end, I was curious about the area visible in the basement, so I asked about it. A staff member kindly guided me and even explained that it used to be a church and a wine production site in the past. It felt like I received a simple guided tour in addition to my meal :) I highly recommend this place to everyone visiting Matera 🥰 È stato un piacere, grazie.

We tried this restaurant today and were truly thrilled. There were four of us, and we were pampered from start to finish: the welcome was warm and professional, making us feel immediately at ease. The place is beautiful, with attention to detail and a truly pleasant atmosphere. The food also lived up to expectations: we ate very well, with tasty, beautifully presented dishes at excellent prices. A decidedly positive experience from every perspective. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent restaurant at a really high level! Special food and pastas are simply excellent. The staff was kind and pleasant. The manager explained to us about the wine and dishes and was attentive to any questions or consultations with the food. The food was amazing and meticulously prepared. I recommend taking it with wine tasting. Fun and relaxed atmosphere. Totally worth a visit :)

We visited the restaurant just in time for its opening at 7:00 PM while exploring Matera. The impressive interior, with its unique, cave-like staircase layout, was a surprise. The staff is very energetic, attentive, and friendly. Even the bread and olive oil were delicious, and they provided the perfect Aperol spritz. Both the starters and main courses were of high quality. You should definitely try the salmon for starters, the steak for mains, and the tiramisu! However, the fish we ordered seemed a little underseasoned, and undercooked, resulting in a mushy texture. This isn't a major issue; the food itself is excellent, and we'll definitely be back! Compared to other Matera restaurants, the prices are lower, but you can enjoy high-quality food.

It exceeded expectations, an intimate setting and a magnificent setting... Superb food, attentive and meticulous service! We had tagliolini with truffle and shrimp, and for a main course, pork cheek. To finish, tiramisu and a deconstructed cannoli, all accompanied by a bottle of wine. Everything was delicious, but the tagliolini were TOP. The Cigar Room in the basement deserves a special mention: charming and beautiful. The only thing I would recommend is expanding the selection of rums and whiskies. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

What a beautiful, cool Bistrot! The food, the atmosphere, the wine and especially the service was exceptional! We also had a little tour of this amazing cave turned restaurant!
