We went for Törggelen dinner; it was a charming place...a typical, well-kept farmhouse. We ate really well, and the atmosphere was very welcoming!

I went to the kitchen to compliment the best torrgelen in history from the schlutzer to the sauerkraut to the dumplings to the meats to the dessert everything was delicious and well cooked congratulations

Excellent food! The meat platter with sauerkraut is a poem! Törggelen in the good old parlor... what could be better? We were there for the second time and definitely won't be the last! The chef and his family are super nice and friendly!

An ideal place for a traditional Törgelen (traditional German wine). The wine was delicious, the food excellent, and the service was also excellent and very friendly.

17/04/2026: Fantastic restaurant. My daughter and I spent Easter hiking in South Tyrol and stayed at the Hotel Walder in Schenna. We did some research online and then booked a table at Mair for Good Friday. The service was excellent and everyone was in great spirits. It was a pleasure. The menu is extensive, with something for everyone; I even had calf's liver, which was absolutely delicious. My daughter especially enjoyed the extensive asparagus menu. We ended up eating there every evening except Saturday (which was unfortunately their day off). But we definitely have to go back; the menu is still quite long. The prices are also very reasonable. At the end of our holiday, as almost regular customers, we were given a delicious bottle of wine as a parting gift – very nice indeed! :-)

15/03/2026: Asparagus weeks are always a treat
08/12/2025: We found it by chance, as all the restaurants in the center of Castelrotto were closed. It was around 1:30 PM, and when we called, they told us the kitchen was open until around 2 PM. As soon as we arrived, they welcomed us kindly, which wasn't exactly expected given the hour. We ate very well, both the dumplings in broth and the excellent venison goulash. The restaurant is five minutes from the center (you need to take the car), but definitely recommended for a quiet stay and good food.
