The restaurant is located in a quaint and meticulously maintained setting, with an intimate and refined atmosphere. The menu features traditional dishes from the lower Salento region, such as stuffed eggplant, spaghetti with turnips, municheddhe (land snails), and paparina, as well as an excellent selection of dry-aged meats. All the vegetables and greens used come from the owner's garden, and this truly makes a difference on the palate. In short, Chiostro degli Scolopi is an essential stop for anyone wishing to experience the flavors of Salento's tradition.

We had dinner two nights ago. Antonio welcomed us into a familiar yet unpretentious atmosphere. The restaurant is housed in a former convent, with outdoor tables overlooking the cloister, but we ended up taking a tour of the interior, which is well worth a visit. The food was simple but high-quality, with great attention to the ingredients; it was tasty and delicious. The service was friendly but never intrusive. Antonio was very cheerful, friendly, and discreet. Highly recommended.

The owner, Antonio, welcomed us with kindness and warmth; the place is quaint and meticulously maintained; the food was excellent, as was the service. His homemade baked goods were inviting and delicious. The sliced ​​steak was excellent, served on a hot griddle, a unique and stylish touch.

The welcome from the young man was fantastic, and the food was excellent. The same cannot be said for the lady serving tables; she exuded an almost frightening seriousness and contributed to the fabulous atmosphere. A real shame, otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

Excellent service and food but small portions

We discovered this place while strolling through the beautiful streets of Tricase's historic center. Luisa welcomed us into her home, setting a beautiful table for us in the courtyard of a former convent and explaining the simple, authentic dishes made with a few high-quality ingredients. An experience I would recommend to anyone looking to spend an evening in a magnificent setting.

Excellent traditional Salento dishes in a splendid location

Dimora storica risalente al 1700/1800 poi diventato Chiostro degli Scolopi e oggi sale di un ristorante nobilmente e magistralmente gestito dal sig Antonio che ti accoglie con la sua simpatia e soprattutto professionalità Dal pane agli antipasti primi e contorni come ricercati dal gestore quali "piatti antichi" alla carne di alta qualità tutto da gustare con una ottima carta di vini. Peccato che visto gli alti prezzi delle bottiglie di vino abbiamo optato per solo due calici di ottimo vino ma a mescita. Ottimo rapporto prezzo qualità + simpatia.

Un'esperienza culinaria indimenticabile al Chiostro degli Scolopi! L'accoglienza è stata impeccabile, con personale cordiale e attento, e una location curata nei minimi dettagli che trasmette un'atmosfera unica. I piatti sono una vera celebrazione del gusto e della tradizione. A partire dall'omaggio del piatto di benvenuto – una polpetta al finocchio con maionese al limone che esplode di sapore – ogni portata è stata un trionfo. Tra gli antipasti, il caciocavallo piastrato con cicorielle cotte alla perfezione e il purè di fave con carciofo hanno deliziato il palato. Un plauso va anche alla fonduta di caciocavallo con cardoncelli e agli eccezionali carciofi sott'olio offerti come omaggio. I secondi piatti sono da standing ovation: il filetto con cipolla caramellata è squisito, la tagliata di manzo con fonduta di caciocavallo e pomodorini è spettacolare, e la bistecca di suino nero lucano, adagiata su un letto aromatico di alloro e rosmarino, è un capolavoro. Il pane fatto in casa, preparato con farine di altissima qualità, è la ciliegina sulla torta, perfetto per accompagnare il pasto. Per concludere in bellezza, lo spumone artigianale alla zuppa inglese è semplicemente divino, e il caffè finale, da gustare senza zucchero, regala un momento di pura gioia. Infine, i costi sono nella media, se non addirittura al di sotto, considerando la qualità e la cura. Un ringraziamento speciale ad Antonio e a tutto il personale per aver reso questa giornata così speciale. Assolutamente consigliato! 😊
